-When a kid starts to learn how to play a guitar, the very first song he or she learns is Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple. -Arguably, The Moody Blues invented a whole new genre called prog rock. -Chicago’s last album was called Chicago XXXVI. They have 36 albums! -Iron Maiden and Judas Priest led the whole New Wave of British Heavy Metal movement. -And then there’s 46 years of Jethro Tull.
But who does the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame induct in first? Green Day. Now, I’m not one to overly-bitch about the dumb moves the HOF makes…but it’s starting to get ri-goddam-diculous. If it wasn’t for Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple, Billie Joe Armstrong would have never taken his first steps of playing guitar to begin with. And I get the whole inducting-rap-and-R&B-artists-thing…”Rock n Roll” is just a blanket title that’s supposed to mean ALL popular music. But before the hall starts dabbling into the 90’s, maybe they need to clean up the 70’s acts who came before them. Did the Baseball Hall of Fame induct Willie Stargell in before Willie Mays? No…they did not.
Oh…and don’t get me started on Joan Jett and her THREE hits getting inducted this year. Pat Benatar had about 15-20.

I think I've said everything I need to say about the Hall Of Fame already. Green Day deserves to get in, but they can wait their turn. I don't see any reason to induct Joan Jett.

Dumb-shits swerve wildly and without direction time and time again. I don't consider the institution relevant to much of the music in my world.
