To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of WHITESNAKE’s (Whitesnake/David Coverdale) multi-platinum "Slide It In" album, we will be releasing LIVE IN '84 - BACK TO THE BONE, a complete celebration of the group’s awe inspiring lineup during what many feel was the incredible beginning of what David Coverdale called his desire to make WHITESNAKE more ‘electrifying’ on record and on stage. Set for release in the EU on November 7th and in North America on November 11th, this release will be available in DVD and a Deluxe CD/DVD editions. Culled from audio and video recordings & unheard demos from the private collection of WHITESNAKE leader and vocalist, David Coverdale, the release offers an ultra-rare collection of material, performed by the band’s acclaimed 83-84 line-ups. Featured on the record & driven by the awesome Cozy Powell on drums (ex- Jeff Beck Group, Rainbow, Michael Schenker Group / Temple Of Rock and later on Gary Moore and Black Sabbath, among others); unique guitarist John Sykes, whom Coverdale credits with inspiring a whole generation of six stringers after his breathtaking work on the WHITESNAKE ’87’ album & Bassist Exceptionale Neil Murray. There is also extraordinary emotional bonus content featuring legendary keyboardist Jon Lord (Deep Purple) performing his last show ever with WHITESNAKE on video and also the bonus CD. Tracklisting: CD (only available in combo edition): 1. Gambler 2. Guilty Of Love 3. Love Ain’t No Stranger 4. Slow An’ Easy 5. Walking In The Shadow Of The Blues 6. Ready An’ Willing 7. I will definitely pick this up! In the early 80's I was listening to the BBC our on radio and they had concerts by Ginger Baker's Air Force and Whitesnake. I never heard of White snake but the DJ said it featured Coverdale, Paice, & Jon Lord of Deep Purple fame so I through a cheap blank Certron cassette in my cassette deck & recorded it. Whitesnake was great and they even played Mistreated. I ended up going out and buying Ready n Willing & Live in the Heart of the City and I was hooked. As time went on I picked up Saints & Sinners, Slide it in, and Whitesnake. I seen them with Great White around 1987/88 and the show was great but with Here I go Again getting overplayed in the clubs, Radio, & MTV and the horrible single Is This Love (right up there with Babe by Styx in the worst song category for me) I began to lose interest...
Then it happened...I was working at a supermarket and a girl that worked in the office asked if I would want her ticket to see Kiss and Whitesnake in Toronto. I went with her husband (whom I never met) & 2 of his relatives. We got there and found out Whitesnake was going to headline. We were shocked because there were a hell of a lot more Kiss shirts around and their T-shirts even sold out before the show. Faster Pussycat opened things and next was Kiss. Kiss hit the stage with no Pyro or no stage props at all. After the first or second song Paul Stanley addressed the crowd saying that someone from the other band would not allow them to use Pyro or their stage show. At that moment Coverdale appeared at the side of the stage and gave Paul the middle finger which caused the stadium to boo very loud. Things continued to heat up and when Whitesnake took the stage they were booed. After their first tune Coverdale bad mouthed Paul Stanley and was booed. We left shortly afterward as we couldn't enjoy the show.
I was out of the Whitesnake phase for a while but did pick up their Forevermore album a few years ago and really enjoyed it. That album really surprised me as it had a lot of really rocking tunes. Soooo especially from the era...I will definitely pick up the DVD/CD

Here's my Whitesnake/Great White story.... I saw both band's in Omaha Nebraska on November 15th 1987. Fantastic killer show. Me & my ex-wife went. We lived in Norfolk Nebraska at the time. And Omaha was a 75 minute drive from Norfolk. So we got up early on that Sunday morning to head to Omaha for a day of shopping before the concert.Who's hasn't made a day out of going to a concert right? At the time my ex & I were big pot smokers & all day long she kept saying she didn't want to smoke with me.I really didn't think much of it because I was happy I was going to see 2 great band's. Well the next day my life changed when my ex informed me that she was pregnant with our first child. Since then Whitesnake has become one of my all time favorite bands. Elizabeth is now 26 years old.
