Do you ever get on a musical kick? By this I mean do you ever get stuck on a certain band or sound or musical style? For me lately it's been what I call Euro-metal. I've been listening to a lot of Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy, UFO, Dio and Scorpions. I haven't listened to any thing else. Do you ever get this way? And if you maybe are now, what are you stuck on?

Oh yeah! For a long time it was progressive-type Euro-Metal. Helloween, Gamma Ray, Stratovarius, Hammerfall....I'd even put groups like Accept and Savatage into that catagory and, to a lesser extent, latter day Molly Hatchet kinda fit that mold too. Of course, before that it was Southern Rock, and before that Country. In between, I'd get on Classic Rock kicks that included Led Zeppelin, The Who, Deep Purple, or more AOR sounding stuff like Kansas, Styx, Journey, Heart, Boston. Currently, I'm kinda back to Country, which might explain why I haven't posted too many threads lately: the music I am most into now is pretty decidely Country and this is a Rock message board. But right now, my main listening pleasures come from the likes of: Brad Paisley Blackberry Smoke Kentucky Headhunters Marty Stuart Dierks Bentley David Allan Coe Waylon Jennings Shooter Jennings And such. Yee Haw!

I always go on musical kicks! Recently, I was on a NWOBHM kick getting into songs by Demon, Maiden,Saxon, Raven, Blitzkreig, Raven, Venom,Motorhead, Priest,...etc. Before that I was on a Rockabilly kick listening to Eddie Cochran,Robert Gordon,Stray Cats, Gene Vincent, Johnny Burnette Trio, The Cramps, nick Currant,...etc and lately I've been really into the NYC Punk Scene of the 70's listening to Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers, Ramones, Dead Boys, David Johansen, Blondie, Richard Hell, Patti Smith, Television, Lou Reed, Piggy Pop...etc. ( This one really floors me because throughout the 70's I really despised Punk but with constantly reading Creem, Rock Scene, & Hit Parader back then I was aware of the whole Punk movement going on)
Speaking of musical kicks & things like that I have a weakness that if I get into a band heavy, sometimes having all of their albums isn't enough & I start buying the solo efforts by the band. Kiss, I have to have stuff members put out individually...I even bought an album by White Tiger because Mark St. John who was on one Kiss album & part of one tour with Kiss.
