Any opening bands you'd like to relive because at the time you didn't know much about them? For me I'd love to go back & see Max Webster, Joan Jett, the Rockets,AC/DC(1978), Motley Crue, Sammy Hagar, & Humble Pie to name a few because I'd love to know what songs they played

Van Halen opening for Black Sabbath in 1979 (Blew them out of the water!)
Journey opening for Uncle Ted (78) and they were young and a little more rocking at the time. Ted was in his prime!
Donny Iris opening for Uncle Ted (81?) It was the tour Ted had like 5 guitar players (His guitar army) and it was a circus... enjoyed Donnie more that time.
Horslips opening for Nazareth (80)
Boston opening for Kiss (77?)
Styx opening for Uriah Heap (76) (Much like the VH concert, they blew UH off the stage IMO)
Scorpions opening for Judas Priest (77?)
UFO opening for Cheap Trick (78?)
bucky, I also saw Hagar as an opener but he was already well established when I saw him open for ZZTop (83 or 84)

The Rossington Band 1988. Opening for Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Tour, I figured this to be basically the Rossington Collins Band sans Allen Collins. I didn't know they had one record out as simply "Rossington" and were promoting a second album as "The Rossington Band". While they did eventually play the RCB hit "Don't Misunderstand Me", the rest of their set was full of songs from 1988's "Love Your Man" album and possibly 1986's "Returned To The Scene Of The Crime". I didn't know any of the songs, but I would now.
Kansas 1996. Yeah, they were well established by 1996 opening for the Styx reunion tour, but I didn't know ANY of Kansas' songs beyond "Carry On My Wayward Son", "Dust In The Wind" and "Point Of No Return". I have since gotten into Kansas bigtime and I'm sure I would appreciate their set much more today than I did in 1996.
Martina McBride 1992. Opening for Garth Brooks, I don't know if she had ANY hit songs at that time, but I know we kinda blew off her opening set because none of us knew who she was. Now that I know who she is, I might have sat there a little more intently to hear her powerhouse vocals whether or not any of her big hits were involved at that point.
Stone Temple Pilots 1993. Opening for Megadeth, I'm sure they still would suck, but at least, looking backwards, I'd probably know most of their songs. This was January 1993 and my buddies and I didn't know ANY of their songs and thought they totally sucked and would go nowhere. That summer, all we heard was STP!
Matt O'ree Band 2007. Opening for Marshall Tucker Band, these kids blew Marshall Tucker off the stage. They definitely stole the evening and the only song I knew was their set-ending version of Robin Trower's "Day Of The Eagle".

I saw Iron Maiden open for 38 Special & Point Blank back in '81. I'd love to go back and re-live that opening act.

Equinox, that's quite a list! I seen Hagar open for ZZ Top on that same tour but also seen him open for Cheap Trick in 79 & the only song I knew was "Growing Pains" because I heard it early the day of the show on the radio.
Frank, Talas was a great band. I used to see them in the clubs here in Buffalo quite a bit...in fact they're getting back together for a free outdoor show on July 28th in Niagara Falls,NY

When I saw him, people were throwing T's and other assorted garments on stage and Sammy was tying them to himself! He was great, except a humorous moment when he made a speech about a song HE wrote that someone else had a hit with (I've Done Everything for You - Rick Springfield), and how he was gonna show you how it was supposed to be played... ...and it sounded just like Springfield's version!

Equinox, From what I remember in '79 he wore red leather pants & a tank top & wore the same when he opened for ZZ Top in Buffalo but I wish I would've seen your show with people throwing the shirts . When he opened for ZZ Top he did the same bit with "I've Done Everything for You" & no it wasn't really different. I thought Springfield did a good cover of it

Did he do any Montrose stuff? I know he wrote Bad Motor Scooter. That's why I want to go back & relive the concert. Before the day of the concert for some reason I thought he was a country singer. The morning of the show I heard "Growing Pains" on the radio & was blown away. I had the Montrose debut album at the time but I bought that for "Rock Candy". I remember being shocked when I found out he sang in Montrose shortly after the show.

Most recently The Parlor Mob. About a year or two ago I went to see Black Stone Cherry and Parlor Mot was opening. I had know idea who they where and didn't care and neither did most people in the audience. By the time they where done with their set they had the crowds full attention. They rocked.
