Slash says Velvet Revolver will get together in December to "spend some time with a couple of singers - that's all I can tell you."
The group, on hiatus since frontman Scott Weiland left to rejoin Stone Temple Pilots in 2008, worked early this year with Slipknot/Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor, but that did not pan out, as Slash vetoed his involvement.
VR bassist Duff McKagan was very impressed with Taylor, calling him “the real deal” at the time.
In July, drummer Matt Sorum spoke to Brazilian TV about the Taylor situation.
"When we asked Corey Taylor to join, that was my idea,” explained Sorum. “I said, 'Why don't we get Corey Taylor from Slipknot?' And he's a great guy, number one - he's an absolute sweetheart - and he rocks. Slash just didn't see it like the rest of us did. We liked it. We had ten songs. [We] could put the album out tomorrow. It's done. I said, 'Let's go.' But Slash wasn't feeling it. If we're not all feeling it together, we can't do it."
