NBC’s ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ will host a weeklong musical tribute to legendary rockers Pink Floyd that will feature performances by Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam and other acts on Sept. 26-30.
Foo Fighters will be joined by Floyd singer-bassist Roger Waters himself on Tuesday, Sept. 27, for a performance of ‘In the Flesh’ from the ‘The Wall.’
On Friday, Sept. 30, Pearl Jam will bring Floyd Week to a close with ‘Mother,’ which is also from ‘The Wall.’ Pearl Jam recently appeared on Fallon to perform the new song ‘Ole!,’ while frontman Eddie Vedder joined the talk-show host on a comedic rendition of ‘Balls in Your Mouth.’
The timing of Pink Floyd week on Fallon coincides with the release of remastered versions of all of Floyd’s studio discs, as well as super deluxe reissues of select albums.
Also taking part in Pink Floyd week are the Shins, MGMT and country singer Dierks Bentley, while Floyd drummer Nick Mason will chat with Fallon on Monday, Sept. 26.

Definitely worth watching. He did a Beatles week awhile back, with both McCartney and Ringo on, and he did a Springsteen night with just Bruce....
He's very quickly becoming the best of the late night bunch IMO!

He's my favorite by far. This solidifies it. Fallon always has the best music.

Here's a link to The Shins covering Breathe www.latenightwithjimmyfallon.com/video/the-shins-breathe/1358479Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason stopped by ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’ last night (Sept. 26) for an interview and to watch the Shins perform his former band’s classic song ‘Breathe.’ Mason’s visit kicked off the show’s week-long celebration of Pink Floyd’s work, which will feature different musical stars performing the band’s classic song each night, all to promote the massive catalog re-issue campaign Floyd is undertaking beginning this week. After showing off his copies of the superbly packaged deluxe editions of the band’s catalog box set and the “Immersion” version of ‘Dark Side of the Moon,’ Fallon asked Mason why they decided to undertake this campaign now. The answer? “Well, it just seemed like the right time to do this sort of thing, because with all the downloading going on, this is probably the last opportunity to do all the artwork, all the packaging, all the good stuff.” Mason was extremely genial throughout, gamely identifying racing cars merely by their engine sounds (he’s got a book, ‘Passion for Speed,’ about his love of cars.) The only time he protested, and jokingly, was when Fallon asked what he thought of the famous ‘Dark Side’ / ‘Wizard of Oz’ sync-up: “No, let’s not go there. After a bit, you start making it up, and pretending Judy Garland was in the studio with us.” Before Mason came on, comedian Adam Samberg revealed his own Pink Floyd concert experience: “I went to the show, and I got a little hammered… it started off great, and it turned into kind of a nightmare. I went to the bathroom, and they did the Pink Floyd thing, killed all the lights before I found my seat. So they’re having the spotlight going around and singing ‘Hey You,’ and I’m (all paranoid), like “Meeee?”

Yes it was. Tonight was even cooler. Although, I think Jimmy was nervous interviewing Roger. Roger did say he liked the Shinn's cover a lot. Said it was beautiful or something like that. I'll post links etc when they come up. Roger looked like he had a good time playing with Foo Fighters.

It’s one thing to have the Foo Fighters as your musical guest. It’s another thing to have Roger Waters stop by for a chat. It’s sort of a mindfuck to have both perform together. As Pink Floyd Week continues on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the musical guests just get better and better. Although some may argue hearing J-Fal mimic Bowie while singing Foster the People, or Joseph Gordon Levitt channeling Axl Rose for Kelly Clarkson’s “Since U Been Gone”, is enough to call it a solid, entertaining night, Late Night kept fans awake for 15 more minutes. Performing another favorite for the week, the Foo Fighters joined Waters for a stellar, solid cut of The Wall‘s “In the Flesh”. While this isn’t the first time Grohl & Pals have attempted Floyd (2000′s “Have a Cigar” cover, ring a bell?), it’s certainly now their best. Your move, MGMT. www.latenightwithjimmyfallon.com/video/Foo-Fighters-with-Roger-Waters-In-The-Flesh-92711/1358842

Roger Waters to bring The Wall back to America next year The day after a seriously rocking performance of a track from “The Wall” on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Tuesday – with the Foo Fighters, no less comes news that Roger Waters will be bringing his live show of the Pink Floyd classic back to the States for a return engagement next year.
And it’s occasionally going to be a super-size trip, including some U.S. stadium shows in cities like New York, Chicago and Boston.
"There are quite a few markets we didn't cover last time, like Austin," Waters tells Rolling Stone. "But we want to base the tour around Saturday nights in baseball stadiums. As we speak, I'm at my office working on an outdoor version of the show."
Pink Floyd played live versions of The Wall in 1980 and 1981, and Waters spent the last year reviving it – but it's always been an indoor show. "We're going to be projecting over 140 yards," he says. "So now it's going to be 1,500 pixels wide. We've done light tests and Fenway Park and Wrigley Field and Yankee Stadium just to see what the ambient light is like. And it's fine. It works. We've taken part of the Wall and the projectors into those three places."
When the American tour ends next summer, Waters will have been on the road for nearly two years. "They're trying to get me back to Europe next year," says Waters. "But I think I'll be completely cooked by the end of July next year."
