I was watching VH1 Classic tonight and saw a Loudness video. I remember them a little but not really much. I remember I had a friend who was really into them. I'm just curious if anyone here liked them or not or has any comments.

Strange, I just saw the video on VH1 Classic too, for "Crazy Nights"..Actually they weren't too bad of a band for the time, at least for their first several albums. Akira Takasaki was a good EVH styled guitarist, especially on the "Disilluion" album, which is probably one of their best efforts. The Swedish band Therion did a great cover of "Crazy Nights" by the way in '99 that rocks the hell out of the original with Ralf Scheepers of Gamma Ray & Primal Fear on vocals..cool cover version

I had their first three North American released albums, and they were all pretty good. They blended well with the music of the time. I had the opportunity to see them once, opening for AC/Dc on the Who Made Who tour, and they were pretty good. They kept the crowd rocking and were treated well at the end of their set.
I have nothing bad to say about them, as they are / could have been the Scorpions of Japan...

Loudness ? Come on guys, I only wish you were kidding about not having their CDs. I've been buying Loudness albums since 1983. I really think they have alot of great material. In fact, last night I was playing my Japanese imported 5 video Loudness VHS which is Killer. They have about 20 albums out if not more. They had an american singer Mike Vescera from the band OBSESSION joined them after their original singer left. Obsession released two albums and an EP of Priest-inspired classic metal after debuting on one of the Metal Massacre compilations. Lead singer Mike Vescera went on to sing for Yngwie Malmsteen and Loudness as well as recording at least one solo album in recent years. They disappeared in the late eighties but in 2003 Vescera and drummer Jay Mezias recruited an all-new lineup, and as of spring 2004 the band was in negotiations with record labels for a new album. Obsession's guitarist JOE STUMP is a solo artist with many releases himself , check out his site here: www.joestump.com/discography.htmHere's Joe's new one from Lion music "Speed Metal Messiah" Sorry, got a little side tracked.
