I think Wilson Phillips was more like 1990, but it's close enough.

This does bring back memories of the clubs in the 80's. No, I wasn't a regular in Dance clubs but at one point I did own a Members Only jacket! I was a regular at 2 clubs one was called Desiderio's & one was called Septembers(later Sinbad's) & while both clubs were the hot spots to see local hard rock/metal bands in between sets the dance floors would fill up & dance music would fill the air. After a while you kind of got used to those dance tunes & the one tune that I always liked (because of the bassline) was ..."I Can't Wait" by Nu Shooz.

I went with Roxxette even though Roxxette is a male female duo not a pop chick.

When recalling Judas Priest most people remember Halford's voice does that make them an 80s metal dude? ...and the example you use the dude sings a lot if not most of the song.

Roxette & T'Pau were supposed to be rock, not pop. T'pau even toured as support act to Def Leppard.

I just heard T'pau on the radio today. That is a good song. I've never heard anything else by them though.
