Why do they continue to call it the Rock n Roll hall of fame ? I Don't understand those people. Just change it to the World Music Hall Of Fame.
They continue to call it that because they haven't got enough brains to call it anything else.
They, (those chosen to pick and choose) each and every year, artists for induction haven't got a clue. They fucked it up from it's inception...any questions?
Part of me wonders if the so called "panel" of judges were part and parcel of including kick-backs of a monetary nature when forming their institution to begin with?
To consider calling it the World Music Hall of Fame would now incite members of an elite board from other countries to be a part of the induction process and would in my opinion, open up the barriers and acceptance to music on a world wide level, which in itself, would be a great and positive attribute...however, if those chosen, were of the same
mindset that we have currently with the council members in place...I suspect that we'd be witness to some local tribe in Botswana being included. simply because they had the monetary abilities in place to
ensure the induction.
My take on the entire Hall of Fame is this.
Inclusion by democracy on a global level.
ie. Form an international panel. Made up of the worlds musical elite that would include "artists" from the past and present, to consider and vote
on subscriptions form the general public, otherwise known as the fan base of the groups and artists submitted for acceptance.
Each year, the call would go out to the masses, via any and all media
formats, such as they do with the "Oscars".
The names listed would then have the public option for voting through
an online or even a 1 time, phone in process at $5.00 a pop! This may discourage multiple or "vote early & vote often" attitude that prevails
in some elections.
Honestly, would this not make much more sense than the system we now have in place...allowing a committee of what?...12 or so people, having the final say on whether or not KISS get's the nod after their illustrious 30+ year career, and the multitude of fans that have supported them for the same period?...Not to mention the league of new fans that the band has accumulated over the same time period?
Maybe not?.........But the current system sure as hell is a joke
isn't it and doesn't seem to be garnering any positive feedback
in regards to the results now does it?
What say you good people? Does Democracy still have a voice or are we at the behest of a small panel of otherwise, uninformed and ignorant
judges to tell us just "who is deserving or NOT"!!!
Just a thought...no need to hammer or inflame...
Thanks
