That's a tough one I really like both, but I'm voting for Joan.

Pat is better. If for no other reason because Neil Girardo is her guitar player.

I'd have to with Jett.
Her take on "AC/DC" is as good, if not better as the original in my opinion.
Thanks Kim

Pat is better. If for no other reason because Neil Girardo is her guitar player. Jesse thinks like I do. I've seen Joan live twice. Didn't care for her either time. She acts like she hates performing IMOA

^^^^^^^^^^You must've caught 2 bad shows then because I've seen her 12 times & was never disappointed. She really seemed to be enjoying herself onstage for those shows & her interaction with her fans was great in all the shows I've seen.
I also feel that Jett's guitarist Ricky Byrd who was with Jett from '81-'83 is as good as Giraldo. He's amazing & since has played with & or recorded with Ian Hunter, Roger Daltrey, Leslie West, & most recently Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes. He also has a side band he works with just for fun playing Rock & Soul cover tunes called NYC Hit Squad & in that band features Liberty Devitto (Billy Joel’s drummer), Joe Lynn Turner (Deep Purple), Hugh McDonald (Bon Jovi) or Will Lee (Letterman Band) on bass, Christine Ohlman (Saturday Night Live Band), Richie Cannata (Billy Joel sax player)
This was in no way a bash at Neil Giraldo (I was amazed how he was able to play with his arm in a cast at one show I seen in the early 80's) but I just feel Byrd is every bit as good.
This may be the best poll yet! I can't believe how the lead seems to change every day(I really thought Benatar was going to walk away with it on this forum)! I really love both artists but of course for me there was no hesitation. The dark hair, dark eyeliner, Black leather Jacket, pro keds, & of course rock & roll in the same vein as the Stones,Slade, NY Dolls, & 60's Garage Rock... Joan Jett is my clear cut winner. I'll always remember the photo of Jett & Cherie Currie sucking on ice cream cones in Creem Magazine with a caption that read "These Bitches Suck!" with a response by Jett Saying she was going to go to their offices at Creem Magazine & Kick their F@#Kin' Ass. Seeing that photo began my first rock & roll crush

JJ for me. I liked Pat early on but her stuff just seemed to get schmaltzyer and schmaltzyer. JJ is a rocker and will always be one.

WTF!?!? Joan Jett is hot, but kinda lez. Pat Benatar is FINE and sings like a banshee. Plus her songs, especially the early ones, they're firey salvos of incendiary ROCK!
Convincing footage:
SWAGGERING MOXIE DEFINED: The woman has range and volume down "pat". HA!
Her voice and music PERFECTLY matched. A slow fave:

^^^^^Why does "kinda Lez" matter??? I never stopped liking Judas Priest because Rob Halford is gay! I would never put Benatar down because I do enjoy her first 3 albums a lot. Speedy's comment was correct in my opinion. Jett always stayed true to her style as a rocker through every album she put out. Jett IS "Rock n Roll" in much the same vein as Keith Richards. The last couple of lines wasn't a dig at Pat Benatar it's just my opinion of Jett because I've followed Jett's career over the years. Benatar's direction took her to a more Pop Radio Friendly style with Get Nervous, Tropico, Wide Awake in Dream Land, & Gravity's Rainbow(which had a few more pop rocking songs than it's 3 predecessors ) & there's nothing wrong with that.

^^^^^Why does "kinda Lez" matter??? I think what he meant was “kinda lez” looking. Meaning, kinda hard looking. A little “butch” looking…but still hot in a hard-butch-lez kinda way.

If Joan Jett is a lesbian, then I must be blind. All I see is a hot fuckin rock n roll queen.
