Again...where in the hell do I start?
Let me do it this way...
1970 - The Beatles - Let It Be
1971 - The Doors - L.A. Woman
(yeah,yeah,yeah, I know Zep 4 came out that year...BITE ME!) ;D
1972 - Deep Purple - Machine Head
(and man...I gotta hand it to Steely Dan for their "Can't Buy A Thrill" debut)!!!
1973 - Pink Floyd - Dark Side of The Moon
(as much as I love Paul's take on Band on The Run, I realize it
gets trumped by this one).
1974 - Supertramp - Crime of The Century
(that's just the kind of guy I am!)
1975 - Aerosmith - Toys In The Attic
(what can I say?...It was and remains...a great release...what the hell happened afterwards?)
1976 - Boston - Boston
(wow on toast!...what a friggn' year this was for music!!!...
we were spoiled rotten!!!...had to close my eyes and do the "eeny meeny minie mow" in order to pick this one!!!).
1977 - 3 Way Tie....
Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
Cheap Trick - In Color
Steve Miller - Book of Dreams
(I won't even get into ELO...again, another year in where
we were spoiled rotten!)
1978 - Dire Straights - Dire Straights
(there was that Springsteen guy...but for me...
)
1979 - 2 way tie with
Supertramp - Breakfast In America - their last kick at the can
and they pulled it off with flying colours!!! Of course it was
commercial...how could it not be?
The Police - Reggatta De Blanc - have to hand it to this trio,
for a higher budget album, unlike the $6.000.00 dollar debut
album, I think they nailed it with this one!
And just for shits and gigggles...here's a tribute to 1980 which
ended off the 70's...
1980 - AC/DC - Back In Black
I could go back through the same years and perhaps provide
a different listing, but for today, that's my thoughts on the
"Best Albums of The 70's"...at least in my world.
Thanks
Kim
