Well…there are two ways to answer this question.
The 1st way is to list who you really, really think should be in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. You would have to make sure the pioneers of rock were in there, even if you don’t listen to them that much.
The 2nd way is to take your specific life, and take the bands (no matter how unknown) that helped mold you into the person you are now…and have your own personal Hall of Fame that means the world to only you. This seems like the more fun way to do it…so I will make this kind of list.
1. Pat Benatar 2. Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young 3. Iron Maiden 4. Elton John 5. The Clarks 6. Social Distortion 7. Kiss 8. Pearl Jam 9. Soundgarden 10. Pink Floyd 11. The Cult 12. Rush 13. The Beatles 14. Alan Parsons Project 15. Black Sabbath 16. Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band 17. Monster Magnet 18. Circus of Power 19. Counting Crows 20. Cracker 21. Dio 22. Dokken 23. Everclear 24. Led Zeppelin 25. Fleetwood Mac 26. The Front 27. John Mellencamp 28. Mary-Chapin Carpenter 29. Megadeth 30. Phish 31. Muder By Death 32. Neil Diamond 33. Oingo Boingo 34. Ozzy Osbourne 35. Judas Priest 36. Red Hot Chili Peppers 37. Screamin’ Cheetah Wheelies 38. Smashing Pumpkins 39. Supertramp 40. Queensryche 41. Van Halen 42. White Stripes 43. The Allman Brothers Band 44. Metallica 45. The Band 46. Bob Dylan 47. Nine Inch Nails 48. Hank Williams, Jr. 49. The London Quireboys 50. The Rolling Stones
I would not be the person I am now, if it wasn’t for these 50 artists. So, this is my personal Hall of Fame.

Excellent lists!! Sadly, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH is most likely to induct the following: Janet Jackson Cyndi Lauper Matchbox 20 Snoop Dogg The White Stripes Gloria Estefan & Yoko Ohno I don't think The Whitestripes would be too sad. They're pretty good IMO. ...and Cindi Lauper has some talent and although I don't listen to MJ I understand his impact on pop music. I think that might be why the Rock Hall gets a bad rap because of it's name. If it was "Popular Music Hall Of Fame" I think people might have less of an ax to grind with them. Using the Rock moniker starts the argument what is considered rock and so on. Also, it's run by a bunch of snobs.
