Who is it, or what music is it that you seem to keep going back to? Let's say the last year for example. Go 2 years if you like. Even with all of the new music coming down the pipes and changes in your listening preservations considered, which artist or group have you found yourself going back to for comfort in regards to your listening pleasure? Do you find yourself going back 5 years? 10 years? 15 years? 20 years?...or More? What about specific groups? Anyone harbouring faith in groups such as Rush for their pleasure? The Stones? Beatles? Thin Lizzy? KISS? Foreigner? Roy Orbison? Cheap Trick? ZZ Top? Pink Floyd? Aerosmith? Springsteen? UFO? Iron Maiden? Styx? The Kinks? Foghat? ELO?..........you get the image. According to most sources, today's music is doing just fine...and I agree...especially if I was a little younger...but to some of those posting here, anything amiss and anything lacking which would cause you to revert back to slapping on "Norwegian Wood" just for shits and giggles...just to hear a simple ole ballad by the fab 4? No need for flaming...it's just a thought. I know Lemmy, and Kid Rock, et all, rule the music world now, but just wonderin'? Hell, Madonna must be going "Lady Ga Ga" ?? ahahahaha. Shit, at this point, Marilyn Manson must be shivering in his latex boots and body suit, grabbin' himself by the pecker if he has one???...goin "What the fuck"!!! Doh!!!!!!! hahahahahahahahahaha. Thanks Kim

Two that I go back to most often are ZZ Top and Pink Floyd. I don't think a week goes by that I don't listen to Pink Floyd or ZZ Top. Pink Floyd is my favorite all time and something by ZZ Top will always make my play and burn lists. I've always liked ZZ Top but ever since being front and center close enough for Billy to step on hands a few years ago I've found my self a much bigger ZZ Top fan.
Two groups I've been listening to a lot more just recently are Led Zeppelin and ELO. I've always liked Zep but have just been putting them in more lately and I kept hearing ELO at work so they've been growing on me.

Probably Charlie Daniels Band and, maybe The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Both were among my favorites when I first became a music junkie and I never totally tired of listening to either like I did with Hank Williams Jr, The Oak Ridge Boys, John Anderson and, later, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin and The Allman Brothers. As I've become a better musician over the years, I'm REALLY getting back into Charlie Daniels Band. When you listen to something as a kid, later in life, you tend to associate that music with something a kid would listen to. In that respect, I got pretty far away from CDB for a little while only to come back to it and think, "Holly shit! I was on to something when I was young and I didn't even know it". Recently, I heard the CDB song "Rainbow Ride", the B-side to "Devil Went Down To Georgia", by the end of the song, I'm thinking, "Is this really a bunch of Southern hicks in cowboys hats or this fucking Yes or Kansas!". Ol' Charlie was a lot more progressive rock than anyone ever gave him credit for folks.

My constant go-to artist for 30 years now has been Springsteen.
I also frequently go to Rush, Iron Maiden, Thin Lizzy and the Who as well as most classic 80's metal (no hair bands).

Cheap Trick. I can put them away even for a good year, but I'll dig 'em out and go on a bender for a few weeks listenin to them. This love affair has been occuring since I first heard At Budokan.

Great mention Funky! I have to agree. I don't know about you, but I can still remember where I was and what I was doing when I first heard the music from the album. Believe it or not, it was sometime back during my college days in 79' ...I was on the phone with a buddy of mine. We were sitting there talking about music and stuff and he mentioned something about CBC airing a special on them...and lo and behold, I switched over to ONE of the TWO channels that we received at the time as we were yakkin, and there it was!!! I still remember telling Rick, "gotta go buddy...it's on!!!" Funny, but I was aware of the group at the time...but I have to say...it was this special on tv that solidified my love of the group. Thanks Funky, for the memory wake up call on Cheap Trick. Thanks Kim
