I don’t even need to say anything at all here other than the B-side to Slash’s new single Sahara is a cover of Paradise City by Guns N’ Roses, featuring Cypress Hill, and Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas.

Charlie Daniels has pissed me off over the years by re-recording songs done before the success of "Devil Went Down To Georgia" on many of his late 80's/ early '90's albums. Not a single one is better, several are unlistenable.

Oh, and let's not forget Lynyrd Skynyrd's re-recording of "Gimmie Back My Bullets with Kid Rock. I believe Gary Rossington wrote that song so that counts.

Now that I'm waking up, there's also Accept's re-recording of "Generation Clash" with Udo on vocals. The original version sucked, the Udo version was actually worse!

Now, don’t ban me for life or anything… But I kinda like it. I always had a soft spot for Cypress Hill. Fergie doesn’t do too bad of a job either.

Quo's rehashing of 'Forty Five Hundred Times' a few years ago was pretty lame. Plus totally pointless.

I didnt really care for Blue Oyster Cult rerecording a bunch or their classic songs for the entire 'Cult Classic' album. Musically it was not alot different, but I did not care to hear Eric Bloom sing "Cities On Flame". That's Albert Bouchard's song, and can not be done better than him. I also did not care to hear Godzilla sung solely by Eric...that song needs Buck on vocals. I really did not see much point to that album.
Black Label Society's live version of 'No More Tears' is pretty stupid...

Cypress Hill gets played on a few rock stations around here and Fergie doesn't sound too bad. I've actually hard worse but it's still kind of funny.

I had a lot of good times with this CD back in the early to mid 90s:

I was alot more upset when Kiss redid Beth with Carr singing for a greatest hits release. Not only was it low class, Carr, while a decent singer didn't put the feel in the song Criss did.

Sometime artists re-record their songs so they can shift copyright back into their names and stop paying royalties to original members no longer involved.

Quo's rehashing of 'Forty Five Hundred Times' a few years ago was pretty lame. Plus totally pointless. No shit Doc! I agree!!! You simply do not screw with Quo originals...ya just don't!!! It's a done deal the first time round. On the other hand, it's okay if Quo covers some of the other stuff...cuz they know how to do it up in fine form... Cadillac Ranch, Roadhouse Blues, Fun Fun Fun... One that may apply here though is Kate Bush's attempt to "remake" "Wuthering Heights"...sorry Kate, you lost the innocence on this one in trying to make your vocals come across as a wee bit more mature. I'll take "The Kick Inside" version anyday...thank you very much. Thanks Kim

I didn't mind so much that KISS re-did "Beth" in 1988 with Eric Carr singing. It wasn't so bad (imo). What I actually thought was pretty horrible was when Peter Criss re-did "Beth" on his 1993 album, 'Cat #1'. I want to vomit every time I hear that. It was absolutely terrible! Someone should have slapped Peter before he released it. But that's just my opinion
