If it never have been written in this forum about these band, i don`t know, could just be my "searching" that is awful. . .
So in the interest of keeping the universe open, i`ll post a new thread anyways. . .
Norwegian Rock bands, may get little attention due to the low number of people living here, so some off these bands may be new to you, or simply forgotten by some of you (Although i hope this is "really old news" too most of you)
Stage dolls.
TNT.
Tindrum.
Dream Police. (First album)
Return.
Trust that you are qualified to find the music on you re own, but if requested, i will do what i can to help;)
Hope you will consider my recommendations, and give the bands a fair chance, u will not regrett it!
Ps: You will find most/some off they`re music on spotify. .

Have to say, I always loved TNT, great band. Intuition is my fav album & Knights of the New Thunder & Terll No Tells good stuff too ... After that with so much other material from so many other bands at the time, I lost track of TNT until the much publicised - over the last couple of years - split with Tony Harnell & him being replaced by Tony Mills. Stage Dolls - Heard plenty of good things about them & even think I saw them open for someone, back in the "good old rock days" - The 80's - but don't recall when exactly. My good old mate Steve Newman thinks that they are an excellent band, so there's a good recommendation right there. I guess I've just not had the time to really check them out ... Tindrum - I know nothing of these guys ... Dream Police - Heard the name mentioned a number of times but haven't heard them. Return - Sorry, none the wiser on them either. I do love a lot of Jorn Lande's stuff. I liked Millenium & the Allen / Lande stuff too. John Norum was BORN in Norway although made his name more with Swedish band Europe ... Norum has some great solo work & has made some great contributions all over the place too. I'm sure there's other's I like too, but can't think of right now. Cheers, Al

Tindrum - I know nothing of these guys ... Dream Police - Heard the name mentioned a number of times but haven't heard them. Return - Sorry, none the wiser on them either. The great thing about these bands, is that most of the members, are from my region, so i have seen them live, atleast stage dolls a couple of times, and "return" once. . Not real concerts, just parties. We`ll, Tindrum and Dream police, i don`t think alot know about, even in Norway, lost i history. . But Dream police, whit the album "dream police" (Not to get mixed whit cheap tricks), are one of the better albums i have ever heard, regardless of country. . You can find it on spotify, atleast songs as "On fire" "Rock me" is superb if given a chance;) And Tindrum only lived for a short period of time, but try to get you`re ears on "Drumms of war" Awesome. . But this band takes i little torrent searching to find. . Ps: Trivia: They have the same drummer as TNT, so around the same genre Return were really big in Norway in the 80s, and are also easy to find on spotify. . They are mainly a ballade band, whit songs like "don`t go", "life must go on", "bye bye johnny" and "The loner" who really gets up there among the best rock ballads. (White lion-When the children cry. Winger - Miles away. Scorpions-Send me an angel, and so on. . .) But "to the top" and "having fun", are examples that they can play in the non ballad genre whit great results too.

I thought all Norwegian rock bands burned down churches & murdered their lead singers..... Thats not Rock, in my book, if u get the picture. . But these days i rekon u are right, well that, and depressive emo stuff. . . But all of these bands started in the 80s, and hit the hair band genre. (How i wish i could have experienced the 70s and 80s first hand, now there is only the music that lives on, the attitude is long lost. . .)

Norum may have been born in Norway, but he grew and is from Sweden. I wouldn't really count him. He is one of my favorites though. Love his solo work. Great guitarist.

You CAN experience the 70's and 80's music first hand.......... Stick around...you will be immersed into, and impressed with the knowledge of those HERE that were around during that time. These are the folks that will guide you, influence you, and help you for that "first time experience" and reap the benefits in regards to what it was like to experience it from the beginning. The attitude from that era is alive and well.........and it lives on here at the R & R Universe. It was never lost,............ you simply found it. Welcome to the board Inevitabledestiny. Thanks Kim
