Had a blast at the Silvertide show Friday night!!
I missed the opening act because our cab was late but we got there in plenty of time to get close to the stage for Silvertide. From start to finish they are full of energy and kick major ass. I can't wait till they headline.
They started out with Devil's daughter and they sounded great. One thing about Show and Tell is maybe it seems a little over produced so you wonder if they can pull it off live. But Silvertide is so kick ass live it makes you hope their second LP is live. They did You Want It All, Mary Jayne, Blue Jeans, California Rain, Heartstrong, S.F.C and ended with Ain't Comin' Home. It seemed a little shorter than when they opened for Shinedown and there where no extended guitar or drum solos. These guys are so talented and so young I can't imagine them not being around for a very long time.
After their set they all went back to the merchandise area and met fans shook hands and signed anything. They were extremely friendly and approachable. I mentioned to Walt that I'd have to buy another CD because my current one has all the bands signatures except his. He said I didn't need buy a CD grabbed a piece of cardboard and signed it. That was cool but I thought a t-shirt would be more appropriate and had them all sign it.
Alterbridge was playing and I missed their first couple of songs because I was getting sigs form Silvertide. The only song I've heard from Alterbridge before Friday was Open Your Eyes. The band sounded great but like Creed which the guitar player and drummer are from I don't really care for the singer. The band sounds great very hard yet melodic but the vocalist just doesn’t do it for me. I'll still probably get the CD but IMO they're like Creed in that they're a great band I just don't care for the vocals.
Over all it was a very good show my only complaint is I was there to see mainly Silvertide and their set was kind of short. Even with my complaints about Alterbridge they were still very entertaining and fun to see. If this tour comes any where near your area I highly recommend it.
