So who's with me that many of the lady rockers out there rocked out with the biggest male rockers out there and sometimes did it even BETTER??! You can start from anywhere........from Suzi Quatro to Auf der Maur....ladies RULE:)By blackglove at 2009-08-21 By blackglove at 2009-08-21 By blackglove at 2009-08-21

I'm a fan of the ladies, Joan Jett has always been my Favorite female rocker ever since she was booed off the stage while opening for Triumph around '81.Hell she even played my favorite Stones song "Star Star" that night & I thought she was great.
Suzi Quatro's great & I can't wait for the new Lita Ford album 'Wicked Wonderland'(Which will kick ass!!!). I also loved the Charms from the Boston area led by Ellie Vee(Now She's in the Jeddo Stars) & I really love everything Juliette Lewis has released especially her 'Four on the Floor' album which contains one of the best R n R Screams ever during "Death of a Whore". Giant Drag,Dresden Dolls,Damone,Lee Aaron,Heart,Wendy O Williams, The Donnas, & L7 all are phenomenal! & finally I'll mention Patti Smith who I never would've dreamed I'd get into her music but man she is incredible.I love all of her 70's albums & her album of cover songs called 'Twelve' is amazing & I highly recommend it!

Anne and Nancy Wilson of Heart among a few, select others could be credited for getting me into hard rock so long ago. It's hard to imagine, but Heart was one of the hardest rock bands on the radio back in the olden days. (circ. 1974-79)

Grace Slick and Joan Jett! wOOt! Must give props to Jim Henson. Seriously. When he created the Electric Mayhem Band, he didn't make Janis the token chick singing and shaking a tambourine. He made her the lead guitarist! I can recall watching this show as a kid and wanting to be as cool as Janis playing lead guitar! Or even cool like Grace, or as cool as Joan. Err...then I found out after two years of guitar lessons I had no music talent...and I'm not that cool ;D
