Okay...so upon hearing the release from this album the other night on the way home from from work..."When Will I Be Loved"...I was smitten! Even got the ole case of the chills as the music went up my spine for a second or two...told my wife that this was a great track and that I wondered from whence this song originated from.... Well, she found the album in the store yesterday and proceeded to buy it for me. Great gal that she is...I just had to listen to it in it's entirety yesterday. Sad to say...John is getting old and mellowing waaaaaay too much waaaaaaaay too soon! The only track with any "ooomph" on it is the one I heard on the radio. "Garden Party" is okay, yet even the inclusion of Henly of the Eagles is still rather sombre. The majority of the album reminds me of rejected Hank Williams left over numbers? Very laid back and a little too safe and easy going for Fogerty standards...and that makes me wonder...has the guy lost a step along the way here over the last couple of years? For what it's worth...it's not the "John" we know that even had the balls that he showed us on the "Premonition" release... I know that he slowed it down to a degree on "Revival", but this is a little much??? Just my take on the album. Thanks Kim

Hey Speedy...
Yeah, these are all cover tunes...same as the first release was many, many moons ago when John released the first version.
I guess he's just revisiting some of the classics that he was able to get around to this time.
As mentioned though, it's a somewhat subdued rendition of the classics that he did decide to cover and maybe "age" is starting to rear it's unfortunate head in terms of Fogerty's take on the tracks contained within this time round???
Thanks Kim
