This is Jim Carroll today... Sad to see just what a life of abuse can do to a person. According to stats...he's 57 years old. Here he was in better times... Not that much better eh folks?... From all accounts, Jim was a Heroin addict at the age of 13. I love the guys music...but this is just sad. Thanks Kim

Maybe he turned heavy vegetarian, they always look gaunt from that nothing diet.

It's sad seeing that photo as I had thought he had cleaned up but that picture kind of looks like he's back on the Horse.
I will say if anyone hasn't seen "Basketball Diaries" with Leonardo Di'Cappacino & Mark Wahlberg check it out. It's really a phenomenal movie about Carrol's teen years & how he goes from a basketball star to a junkie doing whatever he has to for his next fix.
I loved Jim's 'Catholic Boy' album especially the song "It's Too Late" & what I consider the best Power Punk tune of all-time "People Who Died"

Ok song I suppose. Not sure it would be a constant on my CD player though. Kinda sounds like 'Gap-Punk' (Green Day, The Offspring & the like).

"People Who Died" came out at a perfect time for me,at a time when I was discovering Punk music in the late 70's/Early 80's.I still love mixing that tune together with "I Wanna Be Sedated" (Ramones), "Jet Boy Jet Girl" (Damned;Captain Sensible & the Softies), & "Surfin' on Heroin" (Forgotten Rebels).
