Aerosmith only has 4 good albums the rest are mediocre to bad. Those first 4 are pretty damn good though.
AC/DC has 9 good albums and the rest are decent to mediocre.
Gotta go with the Young brothers.

Aerosmith only has 4 good albums the rest are mediocre to bad. Those first 4 are pretty damn good though. Could not disagree with you more there. Only four good albums? Sure, most everything since 1987 except for 'Pump' has been pretty abysmal, but how can you discount 'Draw The Line'? That album contains the title track, 'Kings & Queens', 'Bright Light Fright' & the best version of 'Milk Cow Blues' ever. Plus if you are counting live albums, again 'Live! Bootleg' stands up alongside Status Quo's first live album (as well as AC/DC's 'If You Want Blood') as one of the best live albums ever made. It is certainly no major production job like a lot of live albums. What about 'Night In The Ruts'? Ok so Perry is only on about two tracks but 'No Surprize', 'Chiquita', 'Bone To Bone' & the covers of 'Think About It' & 'Reefer Head Woman' are excellent. 'Rock In A Hard Place' is a much better album than it should have been with, again no Perry & Whitford only contributing rythym guitar to 'Lightning Strikes'. That album literally screams out of the speakers. 'Done With Mirrors' in my opinion gets a raw deal as to me it is a very underrated album. It is also the last 'real' Aerosmith album. Having said all that, I also LOVE AC/DC & having been lucky enough to have seen them with both Bon & Brian, I can state they are one of the best live bands on the planet!

I also liked the live Bootleg record especially side 4 with "Mother Popcorn" & "I Ain't Got You"

Sorry. I really only care for the first 4 albums. The rest have 2 or 3 decent songs among a bunch of crap.
After NITR they really went down hill. I find myself NEVER playing anything past ROCKS,,
Oh, and Live Bootleg has to be the WORST live album ever.
Besides every time I saw Aerosmith back in the day they were HORRIBLE. The only time I saw them and they were any good was on the AERO-KISS Tour and they were boring after KISS.

I think Aerosmith was one of the best bands of the 70's. The first 5 albums are great and the next 3 were still good....but they really cheesed out after 'Permanent Vacation'(which I thought was a nice return/comeback). 'Pump' was a huge letdown after that album...and the beginning of a descent into Top 40 Hell....
AC/DC have always stuck to their guns and just done what they do best. They just rock. They don't do cheesy ballads. All the Bon Scott albums are great. The first three Brian Johnson albums are great....and the rest are good. They have never put out a really bad record. AC/DC is much more consistent....so I had to go with them....

The first time I saw Aerosmith was 1978 w/ AC/DC opening. I never heard AC/DC prior to that & they blew me away & came close to blowing Aerosmith away for me that night. I think what gave Aerosmith the edge that night was because I was such a huge Aerosmith fan at that time. I seen them 2 more times,on the Night in the Ruts Tour w/ Mother's Finest & the Rock in a Hard Place tour w/ Rose Tatoo & Pat Travers. They were pretty bad both times but with the Rock in a Hard Place show Tyler was barely able to stand. As I said I love all the 70's albums & I agree with Duo Jett on Aerosmith after Permanent Vacation. Rocks is probably my favorite album but for some reason I tend to listen to Night in the Ruts a lot. As far as Live Bootleg,I can say sound wise it's not that great & it seemed to be just thrown together(which it was)but I really like it.For me,It's worth it for that 4th side with those 2 early performances, the not listed "Draw the Line", & a great version of "Train Kept a Rollin'"ending with "Goodnight You're F@##$n' Beautiful...Goodnight" & then a string of firecrackers & an M80 blast out. I also like the version of "Dream On" with the line "...All the things you do MOTHER F!@@#R come back to you..." AC/DC were great everytime with Bon Scott(I seen them 3 times) & the 2 times I seen them with Brian Johnson I didn't really care for them that much. What it boils down to for me is with both bands, I love everything that was put out in the 70's & i like a few albums by each band that wer put out after 1980 so it's kind of close for me

They have never put out a really bad record. AC/DC is much more consistent....so I had to go with them.... You've never heard 'Flick Of The Switch' or 'Fly On The Wall' then have you? AC/DC were terrible from 'For Those About To Rock' up to 'Ballbreaker'

I listen to AC/DC more now, so I took them. But in the 70's I was an Aerosmith junkie.
I probably like more complete Aerosmith albums than AC/DC, but it is very subjective.
