Iunderstand where you are coming from....which is not where I come from...at least in politics.
Freedom has to be fought for. Sad but true.
You think the GOVERNMENT can make everything OK?? Maybe you LIKE your Free Medical Care. Let's see if you like it when you are 65 and they decide you are not WORTH the surgery YOU need.
I pretty much agree with all that RUSH said.
Nahh...I'm not that jaded or delusional to think that any Government can make everything okay...same as I don't think private enterprise can either...if so, why is it that private enterprise is suddenly standing at the taxpayers doorstep with hat in hand...looking for a bail out package?
You are correct in saying that I do like our free medical care however.
Is it a perfect system? No, of course not. Once again, no delusions here, however, when I do turn 65, and I need hip surgery or the like,
it'll be of some comfort knowing that I'll get it and not be turned away
because I don't have the out of pocket $75.000.00 to pay for it.
Worked out good for my 70 year old father-in-law.
By the way, the $75.000.00 is a guesstimate on my part and I'm wondering what an elite private sector agency would charge
for a procedure of this nature had we no other choice but to
pay for it ourselves?
It's also nice to see as well that someone like my wifes 93 year old grandmother still gets to make the decision on whether or not to have free cataract surgery as she wasn't denied because of her age and actually elected to go without as she is still doing fine, living on her own...even without it.
Yes, our so called system can do with some tweaking, modifications and rethinking in some areas, but the basis of the premise of free health care
seems to work, at least in our country. That, in itself may have to be
looked into as the majority of our population moves into an older category overall...but I'll be damned if I'd ever vote for someone that wants to take that away from me.
Good luck with RUSH though, I trust he has his own ideas on that and many other issues that will no doubt at least give people the choice as to how they best see fit as to how your great nation needs to take
care of itself. I don't mean that in a sarcastic manner either...who knows?...perhaps the man has some credible solutions to the problems that are currently plaguing the nation?
Sure would be nice though to at least allow your new guy given a fighting chance to make a difference for the great folks in the USA.
It's the least the Reps can do as the other fella was given 8 years to do his thing.
In regards to fighting for freedom, Canada just lost another
3 soldiers the other day fighting the never ending war on terror in Afghanistan.
Sad but true...and although that may not seem like much, keep in mind, we are a relatively small nation, population wise and I trust our casualties are in keeping with the toll expected to be taken on our otherwise minuscule, but obliging military force currently fulfilling the peace keeping and nation rebuilding duties expected of us.
We also just forked over 35 million dollars in funds to help prop up
the fledgling government currently in charge. Again...probably chump
change at this point...but I'm sure we have more where that came from
and will gladly contribute when once again asked to do so.
As you say Speedy, you and I differ in our political opinions regarding
a plethora of issues I'm sure, I just wouldn't want to see a Rush Limbaugh kinda guy taking a shot at jeopardizing my way of life and the ideals that I hold dear to my heart in this country that I call home.
Thanks
Kim
