Are there any musicians in the group an if so what do you play? I play acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboard, banjo, mandolin, & I'm just learning how to play violin. I'm completely self taught & I've learned every thing I know up until the violin by ear. My influences are metal, most rock, jazz, the blue, classical music,Scandinavian folk music, traditional Hungarian music,bluegrass,70's late 80's punk, & traditional Latin mainly Flamenco. I've always been passionate about music. But once I started playing it brought me closer to music an became my religion. Metal is my main genre. But I wont limit myself as to what I will or will not play or just playing metal. I believe if you want to progress as a musician you must have a open mind. There is just too much music to just play one style. Sorry about going on an on I just love talking about music. I guess I'm a music fundie.

I have played guitar semi-professional for 30+ YEARS. I play guitar, bass, keyboards and drums, but I consider myself a guitarist. I played off and on in original and cover bands over the years. I spent time as Gene Simmons in a KISS Trib. I currently play bass in a band that plays every weekend or more. I also record music. I am currently involved in several original projects and I have recorded tracks for several KISS Tribute albums. Here's me as Gene here's me not as Gene Here's some pics of some of my guitars Here's my recording desk(ignore the mess) and some of my cd's

I use to have allot of guitars, basses, violins, banjos,PA equipment, recording equipment, & so on. But I lost allot of it in a fire. So I had to rebuild up my equipment. This is what I have now.
I've been playing a little over ten years. I've tried with three bands two original & one cover band. I got fed up with the two original bands because no one else was dedicated. They treated it like a hobby. For the first few years I played out with the cover band. We were called Sons Of Sabbath. That was a shit load of fun an help me build my chops & get over the learning curve. Right now I'm just working on coming up with an recording my own material.

I play guitar, keyboards and bass. Been playing guitar the longest, keys for the shortest amount of time. I've always considered myself a guitar player, but I REALLY enjoy playing bass! Looking back, for years, bass was probably my strong suit, but I'm begining to turn a corner with my guitar playing (after 20 damn years!). Keys? I know just enough about playing keyboards to get me into trouble.

Though I can play more complex things on bass. All the other instruments I've learn how to play has helped my guitar playing allot. Mainly that was the reason why I wanted to learn all the other instruments.

That a wig or your real hair? It's my real hair. ;D I use one of those SKIN HEAD wigs when I play out now. Yes, I hear those are in vogue now. Been thinking about getting one myself. Can't decide on the latex or the real skin version. I hear the real skin version is hard to up keep because it keeps sprouting hair & tends to bleed when you nick it shaving? Hmm....

Since I REFUSE to have a SKULLET or a doughnut I have to use the skinhead look. UPKEEP is the biggest pain in the ass....but the chicks love it....ha ha I've always considered myself a guitar player, but I REALLY enjoy playing bass! I LOVE bass as well. It's boring to practice but it is GREAT to play LIVE. You wield all the POWER. Some guys ego won't let them play bass in a band BUT if you play bass you are NEVER without a gig. Good guitarists are a DIME a DOZEN. Bassists are in high demand. They get no respect though.

Geezus H cheeerist... the man has plied his trade in doing so and was so grateful in offering up pics to describe the history behind it all. For what it's worth, Speedy passes for Gene in my books and I for one would be totally gratefull watching this guy perform...and I would have to say this...the man would probablly play that much tighter than his counterpart ever would!!! Ya gotta admit Speedy....Gene has been lax as of late! Thanks Kim

Ya gotta admit Speedy....Gene has been lax as of late! Thanks Kim Thanks for the kind words but I would have to disagree a little. Gene has been the most consistent musician in KISS. He plays sightless very well and his lines are not easy. ACE and Peter both had their days but Peter has gotten old and ACE didn't care for about 15 years. Gene pretty much is spot on in the concert arena.

Q: What do you call someone who hangs out with musicians ....? A: A Drummer!!How many times have I heard that one!!! Yep, I've been playing drums on & off for about 25 or so years now, my wife Rhonda plays keys & I met her thru a mutual guitarist friend here in the US, back in 2002. Good for you Speedy, your whole set up / rig is cool man! Hope everyone's had a great Christmas by the way & apologies for long silence ... Loads of crap going on ...., back now hopefully! I used to play in loads of different bands back in the UK, sadly none that signed or got offered any deal. We all tried the original material thing years back, but once we hit our 30's trying to still break through playing originals is almost laughable ..., sadly ... So it's covers we do & have done for years! Sad thing is, back in the UK I loved loads of US rock bands, as well as my major fav UK bands that I grew up with, Lizzy, UFO, Deep Purple, Quo, Whitesnake, Rainbow, Slade, Magnum, Leppard, Bad Company, Saxon & many more .... But I got into US / Canadian rock bands before many of my mates back in the UK, loved Sammy Hagar (Solo 70's & 80's stuff), Van Halen, Night Ranger, Heart, Jovi (When they were better!), Pat Travers, April Wine, Triumph, Alice Cooper, Styx, Journey, Honeymoon Suite, Shooting Star, etc, etc ... Same old story seems to ring true though, can't find a singer that's good enough to sing the stuff, that wants to do what we're doing & can't find a bass player around Detroit that loves this stuff too that doesn't have a serious (bad) attitude ... Still, Rhonda & I can jam any of our fav songs we want down in our basement, anytime we want! We are now with a guitarist (Dave) & lead singer (Frank) now, but how far this will go or last ..., is anyones guess ... - We've auditioned 3 bass players with the new singer & 2 additional guitarists ..., but since we're not gig ready yet, only 20 songs together with the 4 of us right now, these guys have moved on to bands ready to play out .... Bummer! Keep on rockin' folks & jammin', if you do! Al
