I have to go back to Blackmore. If this guy isn't worthy of at least some regard in terms of greatness...then I'm going to have to ask Bucky to send me a "burned copy" of "The Chipmunks", cuz it's obvious that I'm waaaaaaaaaay off base here and need to reorganize my humble music collection and ponder the reasons why I love the music that I do. ;D Thanks Kim Actually Kim, although Alvin seemed to be known for his Harmonica work,he was actually a well schooled guitarist. Theodore basically stuck to the drums & Simon was a well rounded musician who played the bass, bass clarinet, saxophone, bagpipes, tuba, drums, & Keyboards. Alvin really shined on guitar throughout the 'Chipmunks Sing the Beatles Hits' which was released in 1964. He was using a 1961 Gretsch 6128 duo jet semi-solid mahogany body, black finish, & silver pickguard. He used a couple of different amps such as Vox & Fender but he really loved playing through a Selmer Truvoice Stadium TV19T amp thus most recordings this is what was used. His playing really shined on "I Saw Her Standing There","Hard Days Night", & "I Wanna Hold Your Hand". His playing continued to shine on the Classic 'Chipmunk A Go-Go' 1965 release especially on a killer version of "Henry VIII", "This Diamond Ring", & "The Race is On" Alvin's guitar playing improved much through out the 70's & 80's when he switched to a 1957 Gibson Les Paul through a Peavey Amp on their 'Chipmunk Punk',""Urban Chipmunk' & 'Chipmunk Rock' albums smoking out some great work on "Good Girls Don't","Refugee","You May Me Right","I Love a Rainy Night","Hit Me With Your Best Shot" & "Jesse's Girl". With the Chipmunk movie comeback the trio was back in the Studio & recorded some Kickass tunes with some more Kickass guitars by Alvin on the 2008 'Undeniable' CD where they kick out Zep's "Rock & Roll' along with some other classics like "Living On a Prayer", "The Time Warp", & "Don't Stop Believing". Everyone can have their Blackmores,Iommi's,Vaughan,Hendrix Page, Satriani,Vai,& Clapton but I'm happy with the Alvin Seville who doesn't Suck!

Yngwie Malmsteen: Not my cup-of-tea I understand that he may not be your cup of tea but Malmsteen in no way sucks as a guitar player no matter how you spin it. The guy also had one of the biggest impacts on hard rock guitar since Eddie Van Halen. Very influential. Steve Howe is not my cup of tea either but I would never say the guy sucks.

Not liking Ritchie Blackmore is like not liking 67 Corvettes with posi-track and tubbed out meats in the back... or the sound of an Allison 1720 with exhaust driven, two-stage turbosupercharger cranking a four blade propellor as it rifles over your head at around 15 feet of altitude.
The folks that don't like that... well, fine. Just great. But ya' know... yep. Sissys.

Yes I think Blackmore is sloppy. But I don't think he sucks in any way. He's one of my favorite guitarist. But I also think my all time favorite guitarist Iommi is sloppy.

I won’t or can’t say they suck because they have incredible chops, but I have always been bored to death with shredders. For the first minute or so, it’s like “wow, that’s amazing”, but then the lack of emotion comes through, and I long for some “feel”.

But you fail to mention that one of Malmsteen's main influences growing up was RICHIE BLACKMORE. Myself, I can never say any guitarist sucks. They are all better than I am.
