What is your all time favorite Judas Priest album & why? Don't get me wrong I love Sad Wings Of Destiny & British Steel. But Painkiller favorite Priest album. Because imo every song on Painkiller from vocals, guitars, bass, to drums was 100 percent balls to the wall crushing METAL and there wasn't one fill track on the album.

Mine is Stained Class. I think for the fact that they combined the epic tones of their previous two albums with some of the hooks and melodies that were to come later. Amazing tracks like Exciter, Invader, Saints in Hell, the title track and of course the godly Beyond the Realms of Death. Awesome stuff!

I'd probably pick Stained Glass as my fave also, though Sad Wings Of Destiny's a close 2nd.

Hell Bent For Leather, which I believe was called Killing Machine in England.

Bristish Steel - It's the perfect metal album.

Bristish Steel - It's the perfect metal album.[/size] I totally agree, Frank. This album never, ever, wears thin for me. Admittedly there are other Priest albums that get mighty close to British Steel......but, in my own experience at least, none of them has the consistency or staying power of British Steel.

I have to agree Rocknut...yet I have to say it was because of your mention on a number of occasions of "Screaming For Vengeance" that I in fact picked that one up! Thanks for that! It's a great album as well but British Steel has been with me since the early 80's not long after it's release through tape and cd format. Have you had the chance to see the documentary showing how they made that album? It's pretty good! I thought the fact that they used a box of cutlery thrown down on the floor repeatedly to get a "metal sound" on the end of "Metal Gods" was pretty cool. Is there a "clunker" on the album?...I'm gonna say no. Thanks Kim

I don't really know if I could pick one favorite Priest album -- it changes depending on my mood. But I will tell ya what I think might be the *best* . . . .
PAINKILLER.
Why? Because, in the past, I've told folks I believe that PAINKILLER is the *epitome* of heavy metal. The perfect example of a heavy metal album, and all the genre entails.
