A band featuring Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham would not go by the name of LED ZEPPELIN, a spokesperson for Page has said.
Jones revealed last month that the former Led Zeppelin stars planned to tour minus their frontman after ROBERT PLANT ruled himself out of any further performances.
The revelation caused many fans to speculate whether the trio would be called Led Zeppelin or go by another name.
When asked about the collaboration, an unnamed spokesperson for Page’s management company, Qprime, told Rolling Stone: “Whatever this is, it is not Led Zeppelin. Not without the involvement of Robert Plant.”

What a waste of time and energy. That may be true.....BUT don't underestimate how BIG this will be. Times are tough and people are looking to something that brings back the better times in their life. Besides Page and Jones have been pretty much MIA for a LONG time. Plenty of people will want to catch this show. Hell who knows when Page could kick the bucket.

It's one thing when a band member is no longer with us, but this to me is not right.
If Led Zep is to regroup, it only makes sense to do so with ALL OF THE REMAINING MEMBERS!!!, even if he isn't here to participate...at least Jason can fill the gap!!! Bonzo would have wanted it this way!!! The fans want it this way!!!
To say that Page, J.P. and Jason decides to go at it without arguably one of the stalwarts of the 70's rock icons, to me is just ridiculous.
Not saying that any formulation of the aforementioned talents do not have the right to regroup to play music...yeah, that's one thing, but hold on, Robert Plant is sitting there, in the audience, going..."I woulda belted that out much better"...
The closest thing to a Zep reunion is inclusive of what's left, and that includes Plant. Do not water it down for me, cuz I just can't and won't accept it!!! Call it what you want, but it isn't ZEP!!!!!!!!
Thanks Kim

I think it's great. If Plant doesn't want to do a LZ reunion, that's cool, but that's no reason why Page and Jones shouldn't do something. And of course they have every right to do Zeppelin tunes.

Thanks Kim Exactly... and that's why they're apparently not going to call it Led Zeppelin. Whatever they call it I'm interested. Of course a full blown Led Zeppelin reunion would have been a lot cooler.

With the sad shape of Page's playing these days I don't know if I'd pay to see that concert with or with out Plant. Black Sabbath if my favorite band. But I will not pay to see them with Ozzy for the same reason.

I have no problem with this. And I also see no reason why they can't do Zep tunes either. Just because Plant doesn't want to participate then why do the rest of em have to stay home?
