Bought them both...
Queen...listening to it for the first time right now...not bad, nothing earth shattering. Just good to hear music from both of them...Queen and Paul Rodgers that is. Decent album, but won't burn up the charts in any way.
AC\DC - I heard all kinds of comparisons to a throw back to Back In Black...LOL...not quite. A typical AC\DC album, but doesn't hark back to days of old...probably the closest comparison would be The Razors Edge, but not even as good as that, I think. Better than the last two efforts though.

I definitely agree with everything here Brian Johnson's voice is no better or worse than usual...I still don't like it

Got Black Ice. I really like it. I think it is better than anything since Fly on the Wall.
Didn't get Queen + Paul. Not interested. I love Queen. I love Bad Company/Paul....the mix, eh.

Black Ice is vintage AC/DC - Nothing special Queen sounds more Rogers/Bad Co influenced than Queen influenced. No Killer Queen here.

Nay on both counts, but might like to hear some Queen samples first.

Nay on both counts, but might like to hear some Queen samples first. Here's the single they released from the album. This is the only song I've heard do far. I've heard it a couple of times on the radio and I really like it. I like everything I've heard from black ice too. I plan of getting both but haven't gotten either yet.

Queen sounds more Rogers/Bad Co influenced than Queen influenced. No Killer Queen here. This is what I was afraid of. Paul Rodgers is a great singer, but he brings blandness to his projects. I LOVE Free, but Bad Company was too middle of the road for me. And The Firm were lame.

Bought both of them.
Black Ice is a good solid album, no masterpiece by any means but probably their best album since Flick of the Switch for me.
The Cosmos Rocks is really good. I am a huge fan of Paul Rodgers and Brian May and neither disappoint on this disc. A far better album than I expected and one of my favorites of the year so far. I can honestly say that I like every song.

I hope it's not as bad as Stiff Up Lip was.

I picked up the Queen w/ Paul Rodgers album last week & I'll take the new AC/DC album over it. I like the Queen cd but unfortunately I can see it being a dust collector for me. It's a good cd but there were no tracks that really blew me away. I think AC/DC's new album has a few good tracks that could find there way onto FM playlist rotations. Queen may get some early airplay but will be forgotten 4 months down the line

Thanks Pete for the link to the Queen+ Rogers track, it's pretty fat, not as thin a sound as usual Queen. Still need to hear more samples before I committ $$.

That does sound very similar. Kasmir has been ripped off a couple of times too by different groups.
