"Music Video Distributors and Cherry Red Records are pleased to announce the home viewing release of Spencer Davis Group - Gimme Some Lovin: Live 1966 for US distribution on DVD.
"This is the first ever DVD to feature the original line-up of the celebrated Spencer Davis Group performing live.
"Gimme Some Lovin' – Live 1966 features extremely rare archive footage of the original line-up playing live - and includes many of their major hit songs including 'Keep On Runnin,' 'Gimme Some Lovin'' and 'I'm A Man.' Also included is an entertaining and enlightening interview with the band members.
"The DVD also features a full-length documentary on the group from 1967 – as the Winwoods left the group acquired two new members, began recording new material and were keeping up European tour dates. Featuring the group in the recording studio, on various concert stages, at press calls, in the PR office, this is a unique opportunity for the collector to glimpse the day to day life of a top group in the '60s.
"Formed in 1963, the Spencer Davis Group's original line-up was, in terms of chart success, it's most successful - scoring four UK top ten hits and two number one hits. The band also enjoyed US success, scoring three top ten hits.
"The original line-up leaned heavily on the musical and vocal talent of Steve Winwood (then only a teenager), who left the group, along with his brother Muff, in 1967 and went on to enjoy further success as a member of Traffic and as a solo artist.
"Tracklist includes: 'When I Come Home,' 'Dust My Blues,' 'Mean Woman Blues,' 'Together Till The End Of Time,' 'I'm A Man,' 'Georgia On My Mind,' 'Gimme Some Lovin',' and 'Keep On Runnin'."
The DVD will be released March 8, 2005. It has a running time of 60 minutes, and will retail for $19.95.
