Just got thru the first three songs on the new Kings X cd that came out today. So far looks like another stellar album from these guys.
Anyone else planning on picking this one up?

Heard the song "Prey" on Eddie Trunk's XM show. Pretty interesting song. He also did an interview with Doug Pinnick over the phone that was pretty cool. Did not know that Ritchie Blackmore had asked Doug to join Deep Purple before the 'Slaves And Masters' album.

I did not know that, why was he passed up in favor of Joe Lynn Turner? And I do know that after Slaves and Masters, the record label they were on insisted that Gillan be brought back for a 30th anniversary of MK2 line-up. I always thought Joe deserved a better shot than that. This move also led to Ritchie making his mind up to leave sooner than later.

He turned it down, because he was loyal to King's X. Which is very respectable. I agree about Joe Lynn Turner. I always liked him as a singer. The only thing about the 'Slaves And Masters' album is at that point, Deep Purple morphed back into Rainbow. Not that it was a bad thing but it was a hybrid band that sounded a little more like Rainbow. They should have renamed the band Purple Rain.

I picked it up today on my lunch. I'm one and a half spins through it and it appears to be another great King's X album. I never get tired of them and they always deliver (well, kinda not with Manic Moonlight ).

I've got all the way thru this cd now & my opion hasn't changed. What a great album. The first song on the album Pray has a killer bass line & groove to it.

I agree it sounded like Purple/Rainbow but look at what Purple has morphed into now, they play a piece of a song then leave an open spot for Gillan to put his talk/voice in because he can't sing at all anymore---- and don't get me wrong I'm not a Gillan hater like some, I'm just pointing out a fact. King's X Can someone put a track by track review of the King's X disc I've always liked the tunes I've heard from them but never took the chance on 'em. Thank's
