VELVET REVOLVER Frontman Recording PINK FLOYD Cover For Upcoming Soundtrack - Apr. 20, 2004 VELVET REVOLVER singer Scott Weiland (ex-STONE TEMPLE PILOTS) is recording a cover of PINK FLOYD's "Wish You Were Here" with producer Douglas Grean for an as-yet-unannounced movie soundtrack. "This is a Scott solo thing not a [VELVET REVOLVER] thing," Douglas writes on his web site. "And it's coming out really well if I do say so myself. One of the best songs ever written in my opinion."
VELVET REVOLVER's debut album, "Contraband", is scheduled for release on June 8 through RCA Records. The band — who've only played one show before (last year in Los Angeles) — recently shot a video for the album's first single, "Slither", with director Kevin Kerslake (NIRVANA, RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, IGGY POP). Look for the "Slither" video to premiere Tuesday, April 27 at 9:00 PM Eastern/Pacific as part of MTV2's "Makes The Video".
VELVET REVOLVER will embark on a North American tour beginning on May 13 in St. Louis, Missouri.
