Truth be told, my wife got me into watching the show last year. Shhhh! Don't tell anyone, it'll ruin my reputation . Haven't seen any shows this year though.

I'm already bored with it. Shame, Yes used to be one of my favorite bands, but they lost me after "Talk" in 1994. this appears to be more bloated, drawn-out drivel like I've heard from them in the last 15 years. Downes might bring a more focused touch to them, but judging from the 6 part title song, I doubt it.

Has there been any band (other than Fleetwood Mac) with more lineup changes than Yes? Molly Hatchet

Myself I HATE seeing bands I respect and love on these retarded shows. It was pure crap. next we will have Sabbath fronted by Lady Gaga. You must realize that these shows aren't made for you (or me). They are made for the morons who LIKE this sort of thing. In that respect, I think it's great to expose those people (mostly the younger generation) to the likes of Judas Priest, Alice Cooper and Kiss.....aw, hell.....even Aerosmith. They might never get into those bands otherwise.

Me neither, but I never much watched it to begin with. You? I've got a pretty good educational guess that most folks who watch American Idol don't know the first thing about Judas Priest. So, by Priest playing on American idol, they are exposing themselves and Metal in general to a whole new audience who seemed to enjoy it. You know, you get on this forum and bitch that nobody likes "real" music anymore and, here, Priest and American Idol joined forces to bring good music to people who won't seek it out on their own.....and you bitch about that too. I don't get you.

I wouldn't have thought it after the first few seasons, but lately, I can't help but think that American Idol has been a great thing for music.

Every band these days claims their latest album (er...sorry, CD ;D) is gonna take them "back to our roots". Most of these claims are pure bullshit, but once in awhile an artist will actually go back to their roots for an album or two..........I think......can we think of any artist who's actually done that?

Not sure. A few years, I guess. I recall hearing OF them, but I never actually heard their music until the other night. I think one of them is related to the Kentucky Headhunters' guitar player, but I'm not sure who.

I wonder if Christine will join them this time around, or if she is going to stay "retired" I doubt she'll be back. On the "Behind The Music Remastered" they all seemed pretty happy to not have to work keyboards into their newer songs.

Good enough. Guns and Roses appears to be just as good as the beatles. Maybe even better by the sounds of it? Thanks Kim No one is denying what the Beatles did for the world of Rock'n Roll.....I just prefer not to listen to them. ;D What is considered good and what is considered bad is (mostly) a subjective call. I think U2 sucks, but some people think they are the greatest band since......well, the Beatles . It's what makes the world go 'round my friend.

Soooo...this is like a story where a guy sleeps with his step sister, finds out she's up the stump, and decides to go his own way cuz he doesn't want to skin fish for a living......... ?........ AND has an autographed beer coozie from a Led Zep cover band? ? Sorry, trying to find the point to this one here....... ? Oh wait!.......Criss Cross!!!!!!!.......yeah, okay....... I member now!!!!!!!! Dude with the high voice in the early 80's that we all loved to be disgusted with anytime his shit came on the radio. I'm surprised he never got hinkey with the Neville Bro's??? Thanks Kim If you get caught between the moon and New York City............

Don't make me post a Beatles vs. Guns & Roses thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha............ Any takers?!!! Let's go toe to toe............. Song for song. I challenge anyone!!! Granted, the Fab Four will lose some votes to the younger crowd here, simply because they don't know the early stuff, but I'll try and put it up as a contender...and in fact, some of you have never even heard some of the great tracks on the albums that this group has put forth. You all bitch about "She Loves You", "Lucy in The Sky" and "Get Back"... Fuck off!................LISTEN to the rest of the music! Can anyone here admit to listening to their early version of "Please Mr. Postman"?...........Listen to the damn thing...it's great!!!!! Anyway....... .......you put yer "Guns & Roses" song up...and I'll counter with a Beatles tune.... Let's have some fun! (Oh yeah...let's keep in mind...I'm one against many). Thanks Kim Say what you will, but this forum would be pretty fucking boring if we all agreed that the Beatles were/are the best Rock'n Roll band the world has ever seen and will ever see and that Guns'n Roses sucks donkey balls. Every Rock'n Roll forum needs an asshole like me who prefers "Rocket Queen" over the best Beatles song you can throw my way. It makes things more interesting.

Yup! Finally got the bastard. Yeah, I know another sand turd will soon take his place if not already, but who? Keep in mind that while we never got Bin Laden on Bush's watch, we did get several of his #2's, 3's, 4's, etc. So really, who's left to lead Al Quaida? Hopefully no one, fuck 'em!

Yes it is true ....check their website. Glad i didn't get tickets...KK just saved me some dough. The guy is an average guitarist at best. Glenn Tipton is the real guitarist in that band. True, but K.K. has been as much a part of the band as Glenn. To me, Priest was never about one guitarist or the other, it was about the BOTH of them.

I don't want to say too much here, but when Kim goes out on a limb, he goes WAAAAAAAY out. I think he's dead wrong as I'll take the worst song off of GNR's debut over the best Beatles song of their career, but that's me. And far be for me to go sawing off the limb that Kim's out jumping up and down on, cuz rants like the above are what makes this forum go. That said, as much as I like GNR's debut and several songs on the "Use You Illusion" albums, they haven't done shit in 20 years now. Velvet Revolver and Slash's Snakepit were the best we got in that time and even they weren't that good. So I'll agree with Kim on that front.
