Who do you prefer as a metal vocalist, Ronnie James Dio or Rob Halford?

Dio. It's a close call though.

Tough call I was going to go with Dio for his resume alone but I tend to listen a little more to old Priest.I will take Dio's solo career over Halford's though.

Rob all the way. DIO has a cool voice but he is one dimensional. Rob can do what DIO does AND he can do what only HE does. I especially think Rob's phrasing of lyrics destroys Dio's.

I think they both kick ass equally.

I'm with Jesse...I think they both kick ass equally.
As I was pondering the question, something occurred to me. Can you even imagine music without either of these guys? The sheer volume of killer music Dio and Halford have given us all these years. Both have (arguably) their best days behind them...yet both of them are still out there giving it their best. Rob and Ronnie are the real deal. They help define rock-and-roll. I salute them, and thank them for their effort.

I'm a big Dio lover, and although I like Rob Halford, I think Dio does it more for me...Dio!

THEY'RE BOTH GREAT. BUT RONNIE'S MY ALL TIME FAVORITE VOCALIST.

Strictly speaking as singers, my vote goes to Dio. I love Rob Halford, but he just can't match that lions roar of power that Dio commands so easily. Few can.

The unique "pick it out of any crowd" vocal stylings of Halford gets my vote. Thanks Kim

Halford has never done anything as good as Stargazer. Has to be Dio for me.

I've heard that Mister Rogers and Captain Kangaroo both preferred 'Dio'. I'm going with that choice based on that... 'Dio'

I think they are both great singers...but I think Halford had a larger great body of work with Priest as well as Fight and the two Halford albums. I loved Dio era Rainbow and Sabbath and the first two Dio records were great. It's close but I had to go with Halford.
