Well, I'm not gonna mention a band member's death since this would turn into a lonnnnng list. - Dave Mustaine reforming Megadeth without Junior. Totally stupid - Soundgarden calling it a day - Def Leppard after Hysteria - Rob leaving Judas Priest (welll, he's back now, but still, it was a big disappointment for me) - Styx' Mr. Roboto (lost all interest after that) That's all I can think of for now, will add more later. Edit: Damn I can't spell

I tend to agree with the well put statement by Bass63.
For me specifically:
Def Leppard... High N' Dry artistically was their high water mark...
Guns N' Roses... expected at least a one-two punch from them...
The "reworking" of the -Blizzard of Oz- music for re-release as to get out of paying royalties to certain musicians. It isn't right... Can you say "boycott" ?
Pink Floyds in-fighting... great musical legacy marred by "girl-band" syndrome...of all things...
Imogene Heap... What happened to this promising English loudmouthed chick? That first album was great, then *POOF* Not a note since?

I have to agree with Bass63, my major dissapointment is MTV. When it first came out, I thought it was going to be a great way to hear and see great music. Didn't turn out that way. It ended alot of careers of some great musicians..............cause they didn't fit into the molds of what MTV wanted. One thing I really enjoyed was their unplugged series. Loved when groups would do that.............don't know if they still do that, but I enjoyed that aspect of their programming years ago.

Well I am talking about the tour in 2000, the only time I saw UFO (missed them this year, no money )! I was very looking forward to see the band and maybe met them, and I indeed met Pete and Phil, we had some drinks together, but I refuse to think about the "meeting" with Mr. Schenker again! What a disappointment!

Critics Critics Critics Critics Critics Everything you can think of that has gone wrong. You pretty much can trace it back to a critic

Michael Schenker! The much I like him at the guitar the much he sucked as a human! This is what the Nuge had to say about him on MetalSludge's 20 questions: 13. Of all the band you have ever played with on the same bill, who were the biggest dicks?Michael Schenker, spoiled, stoned krautpunk.

Classic Rock Radio (actually a whole subgenre of dissappointments on it's own) Molly Hatchet's "Lightning Strikes Twice" album Every Marshall Tucker Band album since Tommy Caldwell's death. Every Charlie Daniels Band album since the departure of Tommy Crain. Eddie Money in concert Quiet Riot in concert Metallica's "Live Shit: Binge And Purge" (IMO they started going downhill here!) Any album where said band claims "A return to our roots" The fire that burned the bridge between Triumph and Rik Emmett. Rick Medlocke and Hughie Thomasson joining Lynyrd Skynyrd (Bittersweet moment actually. It made me interested in Skynyrd again and their collaborations have made for 3 awesome Skynyrd albums, BUT, at the price of losing 2 of my favorite bands Blackfoot and the Outlaws, I'm not sure it is worth it.)

:(MTV How ironic that the first video they ever played was 'Video Killed The Radio Star'. Do you think they really knew that it would?

1. That David Cassidy never torched himself live in concert. 2. That Wicked Mary doesn't have a double live album out. 3. That Sandi tried to sing to me on the phone. 4. That the osmond brothers never killed each other off. 5. That Mike Tyson never beat the shit out of Michael Jackson. 6. That Angus Young and Peter Frampton lost their hair. 7. That I wasn't asked to join L.A.GUNS like everyone else. 8. That I haven't seen a naked Smileygirl on a bar table dancing to Jesse's Band yet like he has. 9. That MTV and VH1 went Ghetto. 10.That Trexx, Jesse, Jim and I haven't started a barbershop quartet.
