Who's your favorite. Who'd I miss? There are only 35 slots. Some have to be left off.

Neil Peart for me...easily. His body of work with Rush speaks for itself. And then there's the longevity issue. After all these years, he can still "bring it" like he always has. He hasn't missed a beat. All these guys are obviously excellent timkeepers...the best of the best. But Peart is simply the greatest rock-and-roll drummer of all time imo. Two of the "newer" guys on the list I really enjoy listening to are Deen Castronovo and Mike Portnoy.

From the list I went with Peart.
Off the list, I gotta go with Peter Criss on the drums. I know there are a ton of drummers technically better but he sounded so good with KISS.
You will probably notice a bias on my future posts. ;D

TOMMY ALDRIGE GOT MY VOTE. I'VE SEEN THE GUY LIVE THREE TIMES. ONCE WITH OZZY & TWICE WITH WHITESNAKE. THE GUY IS JUST AN AMAZING DRUMMER. MY SECOND CHOICE WOULD BE COZY POWELL

On the list Ginger Baker, off the list Dino Danelli/Rascals, Jerry Edmonton/Steppenwolf and I haven't seen anyone that could hang with Buddy Rich in my opinion. On double bass Louis Bellson.

Off this list, Keith Moon, almost every song they did was a continuous solo, so he never did a conventional drum solo live, followed by Bonham, Peart and Cozy Powell, and an honorable mention to Neal Smith of the Alice Cooper Group

Two of the "newer" guys on the list I really enjoy listening to are Deen Castronovo and Mike Portnoy. I had the good fortune to see Dream Theater in Phoenix in 2004. Portnoy is a great drummer, but no one, in my opinion, compares to Neil Peart, live or recorded. The man is amazing, and will soon turn 53 (I think).

yES, I agree, Dream Theater is Super-terrific! Cozy Powel however, is on some of my most-loved hard rock records! Smokin'-Kicker-ROCK-OF-ALL-TIME! Still.
