Living in the bigger city's. There really is more show's available. For us in the smaller place's, a trip to the city- ticket's, hotel, plus stuff can add up fast. As I watch tour date's of group's, looks like they play the east coast, bounce off Chicago Area. Maybe hit Veags or Reno, then land in Frisco, LA, then poof they're gone!! (the basterd's) We here in Purgatory are not happy with this at all! So you all who live in the heart of it all better be digging it!!! Damn you!!! Damn you all!!!! ;D

Living on the outskirts of Seattle, we get EVERBODY here, which is nice, but it can be expensive. Big concerts, I usually will fork out if I know the band is a good live band

seems like concerts happen all at once you have 10 bands you want to see then none for a while..lot of summer concerts outside in the HEAT!..use to have a hard time geting someone to go with me now I have a friend to go with me..but he only likes HARD Rock..likes Slayer a lot..I like some other bands that are not so hard ..

A few times yearly. I used to go whenever, but with my current job, I usually can't go to concerts if they're in the middle of the week. My band reheares on Friday nights, so I can't go to concerts if they're on a Friday and if we're playing out, that shoots Saturdays too! I usually try to get out to see a few per year though, I rarely miss Molly Hatchet when they come around even if it means some big-time sleep deprivation. In fact, last time I saw Molly Hatchet, I got home around 6am, changed my clothes and went to work.....of course, that's cuz I met somebody .

HERE IN THE MIDDLE OF NEBRASKA IF I WANNA GO TO A CONCERT I HAVE TO TRAVEL 250 MILES TO DENVER OR 280 MILES TO OMAHA OR 230 TO LINCOLN. SO LIKE JIM SAYS IT DOES ADD UP. SO I REALLY HAVE TO WANT TO GO JUST BECAUSE OF THE COST FACTOR. IN MY HOME TOWN WE HAVE A YEARLY WEEKLONG CELEBRATION THAT HAS CONCERTS. THIS YEAR IT'S JOURNEY WITH LOVERBOY OPENING UP. I'M DEFINATLY GOING TO THAT. AND I'M WEIGHING OPTIONS ON A COUPLE OUT OF TOWN THIS SUMMER.

Like most people say the price of a concert tends to keep me at home nowadays. Yet when Frank Marino hit Chicago and Milwaukee last year I had to say OK. Jumped a plane out of South Carolina and caught 3 of the best rock shows ever.

I'm in the same boat as pretty much everybody else...a few times a year. By the time you pay for tickets, parking, travel, and misc. expenses, I can't afford to go to every show I want to see. I'm two hours from Kansas City, which gets a lot of good shows. But most good shows seem to fall during the middle of the week and by the time I get home it's pretty much time to get up and head for work. In my 20's, that didn't bother me. It's hell getting old! Off topic slightly, I've missed two good band recently because the shows were General Admission. F*ck that! If I'm going to pay big bucks for a ticket, I at least want a reserved area I can call my own without having to fight for it. Is it just me? Maybe I am just getting to be an old fart.

I live smack dab in the middle of Chicago and Milwaukee. I get every tour large and small with out question. Not to mention the biggest outdoor music festival in the world every summer in Milwuakee. My problem is gettin people to go. Most of the time the women I'm dating don't like classic or hard rock. Many of my friends listen to a very diverse kinds of music and it's very hard to get anyone to agree with anything. If it was up to me I'd go to a concert every month. This summer I'm going to Boston, Kiss/Poison, Metallica/Godsmack, Cheap Trick, Tesla. I saw Tesla last month and they rocked !!! Big time!!! I'm dating someone who wants to go see Jessica Simpson

Seems like several of you need someone to go to concerts with......funk that! I realized years ago that life's too short to rely on others for what YOU want to do. In 1988, I missed a chance to see Molly Hatchet (Still with 3 original members ) with special guests The Outlaws. Shoulda been an awesome show, but I didn't go. Why? Couldn't find anyone to go with me. Never got a chance to see the Outlaws again and had to wait until 1995 to see Molly Hatchet for the first time. 1992, I think was the first concert I went to alone. Marshall Tucker Band. Couldn't find anyone to go and didn't want to miss them like I missed The Outlaws and MH. I had a funkin' blast! Got to meet most of the band, it was great! Since then, the I've had some of the greatest times of my life at concerts I went to alone! When you go with someone, they never seem to want to stick around and try to meet the band, hell, some of the people I've gone to shows with want to leave during the encore! F*CK YOU! And then it's like pulling teeth to get them to wait while I buy a friggin' T-shirt! Usually, they're just going cuz you asked them too, so you really don't have that much fun with them. If you go alone, you're going cuz you love the music and in many cases, because of that, I've met people at the shows who LOVE THE MUSIC and are not there because someone drug them there, but they're there because they love the band and want to have a good time. And I've had some of the best times with people I'd never met before and haven't seen since! Shit, Molly Hatchet shows are a blast! I always seem to find some drunk chick to dance with and shit, by the last chorus of "Flirtin' With Disaster" even her big ol' bad-assed, Pagan boyfriend has me in a headlock telling me, "I love ya, ya f*cker, I love ya!" After the show I hang out with my new friends as long as I want (ain't no bouncer in his right mind gonna tell a Pagan that it's time to leave ), bullshit with the band and vow to see everybody next time (usually don't though) and drive home with the "this is only a test" signal in my ears cuz I was right in front of a subwoofer the size of my S-10 all night! But, hey, I didn't just sit there all night, I didn't leave one minute before I wanted too and I didn't have to listen to any nagging or bitching on the way home! And THAT, my friends, is how you attend a concert alone!

Big post that mad a lot of sense I went to a Boston concert last summer alone and had a blast. Someone on a Boston e-mail list had one ticket available so I picked it up. I had a great time. After the show I went out in the area and met a lot of great rock fans. Later I went back to my hotel and the bar at the hotel was full of people who just got back from the Boston concert. We had a blast and kept playing Foreplay/Longtime over and over and over again cause it was the only Boston song on the JUke box. So invited people back to my room because I had every Boston CD other CDs and plenty of beer So I had about 15-20 Boston fans packed in my roome till early morning. I had to call the front desk for a late checkout time.

Last summer I anted up my 70 bucks and decided to see if the 21st century Doors were as bad as I had heard and suspected; to see for my own self. In New Jersey, I got to see the band; let's just put it this way; I left early, in tears..and even though I knew Jimbo was indeed dead, he had now been thoroughly debased by what the current members were trying to pull off. That's all I am going to say, except that seeing the tribute band, Soft Parade, was a much more enjoyable experience. Money beats soul every time!!!! Oh yeah!!!!

My hubby is the same way too, Eilene. He hates concerts. He's only been to one in his life. It's been ages since I've been to a concert although I would love to go. And my friends all have kids so they have other priorities for their spending money, which is highly understandable. To get to a concert, it's a drive into Winnipeg. Mind you accommodations wouldn't cost anything since Mr. Canuck and I have an apartment in the city, but wellll, everyone just isn't into concerts Geeez, I do believe me and the circle of buds are getting old ;D
