... Has Gone The Longest Without Making A Good Album?
I'm looking for artists who are still active and still making albums..... just not good ones.
This is tough, because, after 2 or 3 shit albums, I usually stop buying or even checking out an artists new work no matter how much I liked them in the past.
A few that come to my mind:
Yes. Was never a huge fan, but I did go through a period where I very much liked their '70's staples as well as '80's hits and found myself liking several of their Trevor Rabin-era non-hits. 1994's "Talk" was the last Yes album that I found anything I really liked on. "The Ladder" and "Magnification" were boring as shit. Haven't bought anything of theirs since, but haven't heard anything good from them since either.
Heart. Was a huge fan of Heart at one time, still like them a lot. While 1993's "Desire Walks On" was disappointing, it still had it's moments. "Jupiter's Darling" sounded like a demo to my ears. I keep hearing praise for some of their other more recent albums, but I've yet to hear anything I need in my collection.
Metallica. 1996's "Load" was their last good album and it wasn't even that good.
ZZ Top. Was never as much of a 'Top fan as I was of the others here, but I am getting into them lately. Still haven't heard anything beyond 1990's "Recycler" that I care for.
Ted Nugent. Love Ted! Hasn't made a good album since "Spirit Of The Wild" in 1995.
