Well…I Think This Place is Finally Dead

It looks like after 15 years, this whole classic rock message-board-thing is finally dead. We had Bowie and Glenn Frey die recently and no one said “boo” on here about it. If that isn’t a sign that things have come to an end, then I don’t know what is.

It was fun when things were at their peak. But I’ve watched members leave one-by-one and never return. It came to a halt Genesis-style with “…And Then There Were Three.” But now even the three people who posted of late are never on.

I hope everyone has a great life. Do your part to keep rock alive! Support younger rock bands…cuz all the older legends are dying!

I check in here all the time. I stopped posting stuff because I felt like I was talking to myself. It has been great, but all good things must end. This actually probably ended a while ago and... just like in real life, I'm usually one of the last to leave a good party. A couple things factored into this IMO. 1) Facebook has killed off most discussion boards. Not sure exactly why, but I think it has. 2) without any new blood, we really couldn't post on any topic without knowing what everyone else is gonna say already. In other words, we know each other too well. All of the regulars here I consider my friends as much as most of my facebook friends and I will look you up Jamie, I think we owe it to each other to stay in touch somehow. I am already FB friends with Frank. Anyone else want to stay in touch, send me a message and I will add you on FB. I will continue to check in here though, just for old times' sake

Oh man, I was thinking the same thing.

I check in here to find new music and undiscovered old stuff from time to time, though.

I stop in occasionally but just don't have the time like I once did. It looks like I wouldn't need much time to keep up though. Message boards are a thing of the past I guess just like rock music dominating the music scene. I see a lot of local rock bands, even some young ones, and in spring I'm going to see David Gilmour in Chicago. When I came to these boards way back at Classic Rock Revisited I thought I new everything about rock and considered my self a rock expert. You guys opened my eyes or maybe my ears would be more accurate. I learned a ton about rock history and and about different and new bands that otherwise I probably never would have. Yeah....sorry I have not been active much in the last year or so. Just been busy with work and band. I still post on one other forum called Dinsosaurrockguitar.com. It was through that forum I believe that I discovered this one.....either that or Peacedogman.com....which is now a dead site. I will still check in here to see what's going on...

It was great years ago, and now when we are about to lose not only our members, but our classic rock stars are on the verge of dying old and nobody is around here to remember them, very sad. Best of luck to all of our past members who really made this board what it was....GREAT!
