I'm going to see Whitesnake this Saturday the 27th in Greely Colorado. Whitesnake is on tour for new fabulous album The Purple Album. This will be my first time to see them live since I saw them twice in 1987 ( Dallas & Omaha) Opening will be Night Ranger, The Answer & Skid Row! It should be a kick ass show.

I saw them three or four years ago and thought they where great. Coverdale still had a solid voice at that time.

Looking forward to your review... I became a fan of Whitesnake early on with the release of Ready n Willing after I heard a live concert on a BBC radio show. Back then they had Jon Lord & Ian Paice so I was an instant fan. I seen them in '87 w/ Great White & they were great but I seen them in 1990 w/ Kiss & lost some respect for Coverdale. I really liked their last album Forevermore so I'm looking forward to your review. How is the new album?

The Whitesnake/ Night Ranger concert was beyond amazing. It was nice to go a concert and have the headliner actually play songs off their new album the fantastic The Purple Album. 6 songs were played and I was one happy camper. They opened with one of my all time favorite songs Burn! I was in heaven. They then tore in to Slide It In & Love Ain't No Stranger. Next up was the Purple classic Lay Down Stay Down. It was great to hear this song live and Reb Beach did a great job of filling in for Glenn Hughes vocals on this one. The Gypsy,Lady Double Dealer, You Keep On Moving were played also and sounded fantastic. But when they played the DP tour De force Mistreated I nearly lost my mind. Reb Beach & the newest Snake guitar player Joel Hoekstra put on a guitar clinic on that one. I can die a happy man. I got to hear that song live now. Of course the 1987 album was well represented here with Is This Love, Gimme All Your Love Tonight, Here I Go Again and show closer Still of The Night. They played for 100 minutes including a jaw dropping drum solo from the one & only Mr Tommy Aldridge. Night Ranger was the opener & played a blistering 65 minute set. Opening with Touch Of Madness they were full of energy. Do You Close You Eyes was up next & remains one of my favorite NR songs. The band then played songs from the various members former bands. Of course Brad Gillis did Crazy Train. New guitar player Kerri Kelly did Schools Out by Alice Cooper. And Jack Blades represented Damn Yankees with High Enough & Coming Of Age. They even pulled out the rocking Eddies Coming Out Tonight. A real treat that one was. They ended the night with You Can Still Rock In America. They put in a excellent opening set. This was a fantastic show.
Side note: The Answer & Skid Row were both playing on the free stage. I got to watch a few songs by both bands & I have to say I was really impressed with Skid Rows brand new singer Tony Harnell of TNT fame.
Up next for me Blue Oyster Cult with Jack Russell's Great White opening on 7/3/2015

Sounds like a great show full of monster guitar players. I saw both Gillis and Hoekstra play at the Randy Rhoads tribute show during NAMM 2014. They were both great. I am sure Beach was amazing as well. I am really curious about Skid Row with Harnell. Love TNT and Harnell is a great singer.
