I've been bored with TV for a long time. When my wife got sick and work was slow, I found myself watching more and more of it. Now that she's passed, I'm mostly bored with it again. Yet, there are some shows that I still watch, a few that I started watching and MANY that I stopped watching. In order to keep this concise I went with shows I stopped watching in only the last year or so, thus excluding the likes of Saturday Night Live, The Simpsons, Family Guy, CSI and others that I gave up on long ago for one reason or another. Anyhow, here's my list:
Still Watching:
O'Reilly Factor-Some days I think it's just to get my blood pressure up. Most days I realize that Bill is just a vehicle for the more interesting opinions of Dennis Miller, Adam Corolla, Greg Gutfeld, Laura Ingram, Charles Krauthammer, Brit Hume and Bernie Goldberg.
The Mentalist-Probably the best crime show on TV right now.
Football-Doesn't matter if it's Sunday afternoon, Sunday night, Monday night or Thursday night.
Impractical Jokers-Sometimes it's stupid, but sometimes its just gut-busting hilarious.
Storage Wars/ Storage Wars Texas-I still think its rigged, but it is interesting some of the crap they find in these abandoned lockers.
South Park-it's not what it was, but it's still the most relevant and truly edgy comedy on television right now.
Stossel-"Trust in those who are searching for answers, doubt those who claim to have found them" Not sure who that quote was from, but I am reminded of it every time I see John Stossel. Even when I don't agree with him, he brings an interesting perspective and makes me rethink many of my own long-held views.
Started watching:
Alaska Gold Diggers-I think it already got canceled, but my friend's brother was on it, so I had to watch.
The Kelly File-It's basically O'Reilly, but when she thinks she's right....she usually is. Unlike......
Stopped watching. (Within the last year or two)
Two And A Half Men-I gave it a chance with Aston Kutcher. Miley Cyrus was my jumping off point.
Criminal Minds-It went from suspenseful and entertaining to weird and downright creepy.
NFL Pregame Shows-I just don't care what they have to say anymore.
Cold Case-I know its been off the air for a while, but I only recently got into it through the reruns on ION. Great premise of a show, I just got sick of the liberal tilt to every damn episode.
