I agree with PP's that Zep is an easy winner here. That said, "We Sold Our soul For Rock'n'Roll" and "Heaven and Hell" have never left my regular play rotation!

Black Sabbath! Old blues rip-offs are cool but I like the reactionary uniqueness of Black Sabbath much, much more.

No contest for me on this one...LZ all the way.
You could have mentioned Led Zep vs. The Bangles, and I would have spent a few more seconds trying to decide... ;D
Thanks Kim

I am fond of both as fan & was influenced by both bands as a musician. But for me personally Sabbath was & always will be my #1 favorite band. They were the blueprint for my own style as a guitarist, bassist & drummer.

I go back n forth. Sometimes I go on a Zeppelin kick....other times I listen to a lot of Sabbath. Lately I've been on a Sabbath kick.

If the question was Ronnie James Dio era Sabbath vs Zeppelin.... Id take the RJD Sabbath anyday ;D The RJD era Sabbath is where I started & then I worked my way back to the Ozzy era. I love both era's for different reasons.

When I was younger I would have said Black Sabbath. Sabbath even has more influence on what I do with my own band, but I just think Zeppelin seems more interesting to me now. Especially the deeper cuts on the albums you don't hear a lot of. As a guitarist Jimmy Page is a little more inspiring from a compositional stand point. This chord progressions are incredibly original and creative. It was almost too close to call as I love both bands.
