The thread on Lady Gaga got me wondering… What do you guys think of Madonna? Well, what DID you think of her in her hey-day? I think almost everyone has at least one song they like by her. I dug the True Blue and Like a Prayer albums. Like a Virgin had its moments.
Can any of you list any songs you dug?
My list:
1. Like a Prayer 2. Live to Tell 3. Crazy for You 4. Papa Don’t Preach 5. Oh Father 6. Express Yourself 7. Open Your Heart 8. Vogue 9. Borderline 10. Frozen

Admittedly, I like her, and did from the beginning.
"Express Yourself" ...a fav from the past. Yeah, I know... But hey. It's got COWBELL!
"Music" a more recent one is a cool, simple song.
Even if you despise her tunes how can you say no to that rockin' bod?! She's got it goin on in that department!

I certainly never "disliked" her music. Back in the so called "day", I knew that she was the flavour of the day, yet at the same time, realized that she was going somewhere with it. Madonna has a heart. She has talent, and has attributed a lot to the music scene over the many years. Yeah...she went wacky, and controversial at times in her day, but on the big scale, did she do any harm?......No. She simply did what she felt was cool to do at the time...and all of us that were there with her during those days, appeared to be alright with it. It worked for her...and it worked for us back in the 80's. The gal had talent and proved it, not only with the releases, but through her concert deliveries as well...and strangely, was not much different than "Lady Gaga" of today. Watch out...I feel a culmination of these 2 talents someday real soon! Thanks Kim

Even when I reach 50, hot will still be hot. And "hot for her age" will still be "hot for her age. " Especially with celebrities. I am 41 now and my body keeps aging ...not my taste. I believe you are only as old as the girls you flirt with. (I'm a dirty "old" man tho)

I believe you are only as old as the girls you flirt with. (I'm a dirty "old" man tho) Haha...Spacel0rd......ahhh you are so right. The sad thing is...the older we get, we still find that our earlier days come back to haunt us...so, in my case, Raquel Welch will still look great and get me hornier than a 2 peckered owl at the age of 70...and she'll be 90!......AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. At the same time...her grand daughter, "once she comes of age of course, will surely be cause for a stirring in my nether regions...and that won't be so bad...provided I keep it to myself...hahaha. Actually, Raquel's daughter "Tawny Welch" looked pretty darned good in the movie "Cocoon" back in the 80's...but I have to say...mum was still my fave. Madonna is aging very well and her regime for staying fit and healthy is proof of that. Good for her. Madonna has been a class act all through the years. Thanks Kim

Never liked her during her hey day. Later on, in the mid 90's or so, I learned to appreciate her music. She has a couple songs I can stand including "Like A Prayer". The haunting "You'll See" was the only song of hers I ever liked enough to purchase.

The only song that I really appreciated by her was "Get Into the Groove" & maybe "Lucky Star". I could get by her other hits. She's good to play a few songs on a party mix because back in the 80's girls loved getting up on the dance floor to her tunes but I'd be worried if all of a sudden I said to myself while at home "Hey, I could really go for listening to Madonna's Like a Virgin album!

It gives me goosebumps everytime I listen to it.

I wasn't a fan back in the day, but I can listen to her now. Maybe it's my age. I'm finally giving pop a chance, heh. I do like:
Take a Bow Beautiful Stranger Crazy For You Who's That Girl She's Not Me Express Yourself Dress You Up Borderline Frozen Open Your Heart Live to Tell

She's got it goin on in that department! HAD it goin' on. Unless you take her age in consideration. So what you're saying is... If she hopped into the same elevator as you and you were the only two, then she starts to seduce you, Spacel0rd's response woud be to revile, gag and hit the emergency button? ...'cause Madonna doesn't pass muster...? Uhhh...?

Uhhh...? When I judge celebrities, I just AS celebrities and compare them to their celebrity peers. When I make my comments, I am not comparing them to the average person walking down the street. Compared to anyone here that I work with, Madonna NOW would easily be the hottest girl. Compared with Jessica Alba, she is an aging ex-hot chick.
